Title: "Smile"

Summary: The corners of his mouth would pull up almost automatically, creating the curved line of a smile, and those negative feelings felt numbed for the time being.

Disclaimer: I don't own KHR! or its amazing characters. (*Sighs sadly*) I own the plot to this one-shot, though. (*Smiles*)

Yamamoto didn't like to frown. He found it better to smile, instead.

When he frowned, he openly showed the negative emotions he felt. Anger, depression, irritation, annoyance, sadness. The rain guardian didn't like to feel those emotions, much less tell the whole world that he felt them.

So when he felt angry, depressed, irritated, or annoyed, he simply smiled. It may have seemed a little strained at times, or fake at others, but he did it anyways. The corners of his mouth would pull up almost automatically, creating the curved line of a smile, and those negative feelings felt numbed for the time being.

The rain guardian's amber eyes would brighten (some people told him that they would sparkle when he was happy), and his aura would take an almost calming effect on those around him when he felt positive.

It was one of the reasons why he was chosen to be Tsuna's guardian of the Vongola rain ring, because of his easy-going attitude. He could calm even Gokudera at times (though, the baseball star would admit, the storm guardian was quite hot-headed), if he tried.

Yamamoto was considered oblivious because of his personality, though nobody really realized that he knew what was going on (for the most part). Maybe the Kid that always hung around the sky guardian did, but other than him, no one really saw that the baseball star simply acted oblivious, like he didn't know or realize what was really going on.

In the tough times, he found that his smile had saved Tsuna from the darkness of the mafia a few times. The small brunet would never realize it (at least Yamamoto didn't think he did), but the rain guardian would see those big brown eyes brighten when they saw the usual smile plastered onto his face.

His fellow guardians also seemed to rely on his smiles, simply to keep themselves from falling into the deep shadows of life. None would admit it, and some would flat out hit anyone who thought of it, but Yamamoto could tell.

But no one relied on the simple curve of his lips as he did. It kept his sanity intact, keeping his mind in one piece. If he would openly accept the mafia, the Vongola, all the dangerous battles they all went through, then his head would certainly be in ruins.

So he kept on smiling no matter what, acting oblivious when crazy events came up, and simply enjoying his time with his familiga. Nothing gold can last, so Yamamoto would live each day spent with the brunet and the others involved in his life to the fullest.

AN: Soo, this one-shot came up randomly in my head, the reason why it wasn't on my "Future Stories" list on my profile (Go check out all of my ideas~ Just don't steal them!). Speaking of my profile, I have a poll up, and I'd love it for everyone to go and vote~

The next chapter of "Life can Become Art" should be up sometime in the near future (Hopefully). I won't make any promises, 'cause if I don't update soon, then I don't want to be a liar.

Anyways, review please!~ And check out my other story which was mentioned above!~
