Hermione sat across from a reluctant Harry and Ron in the library. After nagging them all day, she had finally gotten them to start studying for their Charms test tomorrow. She looked at her two friends: Ron's head was face down on the pages of his book, obviously sleeping, and Harry was looking everywhere but at the words in his Charms text.
She scowled into her own book. She just wanted them to succeed. Was that so much to ask? Didn't they understand that if they wanted to become Aurors, they had to do well in school, especially Charms, as it was one of the required subjects?
But, maybe she was being too hard on them. They were in their Fourth Year. OWLs weren't until next year and there was loads of time until then (for them anyway. She already felt like she was far behind.) They could afford to be children for once, especially with Harry having to focus more on the Tournament than his Charms notes.
She couldn't help but worry though. What if they failed and all their dreams died? She couldn't live with herself if she just idly sat by and watched it happen, knowing she could have prevented it. She wanted to give them all the opportunities they could have. She wanted them to the be the very best like no one ever was. She would do anything for them, just like she knew they'd do anything for her. She just wanted to see them happy and to excel in life.
She looked back up from her textbook to see that Ron had woken up, and he and Harry were animating little paper men to fight each other on the table top. By the looks of it, Harry's paperman was beating Ron's to a pulp. She suppressed a small smile before dipping back into her book. They looked plenty happy now. She would let them have their fun.
