Recoil
By SMYGO4EVA
Many lifetimes have passed them by, and different worlds have come to full fruition, destroying and recreating them. But what is the point of creation and destruction if fate leads itself to their destination undisturbed by the forces of nature? What is the point of destroying fate if there is no choice but to watch as loved ones and even you are killed or struck by madness in the process? On the last days of the eternal timeline, the two Furude maidens, Rika and Hanyū, have no choice but to take the hands of their friends and gold onto what is pure and destroy what is not.
Rika was killed many times and she lives once more before she, the Queen Carrier, would be struck down another time. Each time she would try to save her friends from the mortal danger of Hinamizawa, but in the end, they would be driven mad to the point of paranoia, they would fall into the pit of darkness called insanity and they would never be the same. Rika would then feel her own soul spiraling in the depths of despair; she would have no other option but to join them, only until another world began. But she knew once that her friends would be in her circle, they could be saved and so would she. When there would no longer be eternity, Rika knew that she would grow into a mature woman, but if that occurs, Hanyū would be out of her reach one day, and she feared that it was fate also.
Hanyū would always feel responsible for the deaths of innocents, whom were Rika's friends and many others, wondering what went wrong, and already knowing the dreaded answer. She was a deity, she was Oyashiro-sama, but she couldn't stop fate, events predetermined being out of her reach. But she knew that with Rika by her side and her group of friends holding out their hands, away from the depths of madness, she would live on until no blood would be shed. Even if it cost her own godly status, she would want the friends of Rika to be safe and happy, to feel joy once more.
Fate was cruel in the many lifetimes, and even unfair, because they would relive the same cursed destiny over and over again. However, when Rika and Hanyū would live on past the breaking hearts and bloodshed, the ones close to them, their friends, would live past the horrors of what were the past, present and future. Even if it meant their own lives were to be taken, the two Furude maidens would want the names of Keiichi, Rena, Shion, Mion, and Satoko to live in the present and the future, never to recoil from the light of day or the more lifetimes near and far.
