What do I gain by staying with Kronos?
Ethan pondered, as he silently stared at the fuming Titan scream at his servants- as that's what they were- and dissolve a few of them.
Am I happy? No, not really. Do I enjoy spending time with all these monsters and people I previously was enemies with?
He glanced around at the bickering members of Kronos's army, the amount of monsters was suffocating and some of the giants and titans were horrific to look at.
Nope. Then why am I here?
"Members of my army!" Kronos shouted, gaining the attention of all the creatures, demigods, and titans. "I am here to lead you to victory! We shall rule the world; eliminate the Gods and the other creatures helping them. We shall carve a path to victory; destroy all that is in our way. We shall come out of this war victorious! Who is with me?"
Loud cheers sounded from all around Ethan Nakamura, but the dark haired boy himself remained silent, thinking of his earlier thoughts.
Would it be better to remain with Kronos and have a chance at life, no matter how horrible? Or would I be better off fighting with the Gods and the Demigods?
Ethan sneered. The Gods and Demigods had left him, forgotten him. They didn't even offer any sort of offering to his Godly mother, Nemesis, and there was no cabin for him or his few siblings to reside in. They were stuck in the packed-to-the-brim, messy, old and creaking Hermes cabin with loads of other unclaimed and unwanted Demigod children.
But maybe changing sides would grab the attention of the gods and he would be forgiven? Wouldn't it be best? Ethan frowned and absentmindedly tugged at the eye-patch covering his eye.
Yes, or no?
Gods, or Titans?
Survival, or no survival?
Ethan didn't have any more time to ponder. He was ushed into battle. The whole time he slew down monster after monster, demigod after demigod, family after friend, and he didn't notice one bit.
The final ending of the war was something Ethan couldn't remember. All he knew was bright flashes of colour and emotion, yells pierced through the air, dust of monsters and blood of humans were all around him, clasping around his feet, and for some reason, he felt a peace at mind when he was finally slayed only minutes after Kronos.
If only they knew.
Ethan thought as his sight became black and his life blood poured out of him.
Goodbye Mother.
His one eye never opened again.
For the Percy Jackson and the Land of Writing forum, for their competition 'The Monsterrific Competition' and using the first one, '1) Cyclops - They're the one-eyes giants fathered by Poseidon and form the armies of Poseidon after defeating Typhon. Write about someone changing loyalties after a major battle. Alternatively, write about Tyson. Deadline: 30th November, 2013'
And… yeah. I dedicate this to my darling little Sanchie-Sanch-Sanch-Sanchez-Pooh (Eternally Seventeen) for being a wonderful inspiration and making me write my first story in three weeks. Really. I love you so much already but adding this to it, you're like… my god. :D
Anyways, I don't own anything.
