THE RED LION BY: HAILEY FARRELLY
It was a very miserable night outside the bar in Willingdon on June 28th. Business was slow there was not a single customer at the Red Lion (Willingdon's local bar) when three men walked in. Their names were Mr. Pilkington Mr. Frederick and the last was Mr. Jones. These men were all farmers. Mr. Pilkington own a large but unkempt farm called "Foxwood". Mr. Frederick had a very well kept farm but it was quite small it was called "Pinchwood". The third man was Mr. Jones he was by far the most interesting of the three. He had just recently lost a large amount of money in a law suit so he turned to alcoholism. Many people thought he was insane because he just got kicked off his farm by the farm animals the most absurd thing is he claims that the sang a song I believe this is how it goes.
" Beasts of England, beasts of Ireland,
Beasts of every land and clime,
Hearken to my joyful tidings
Of the golden future time.
Soon or late the day is coming, Rings shall vanish from our noses, Riches more than mind can picture, Bright will shine the fields of England, For that day we all must labour, Beasts of England, beasts of Ireland,
Tyrant Man shall be o'erthrown,
And the fruitful fields of England
Shall be trod by beasts alone.
And the harness from our back,
Bit and spur shall rust forever,
Cruel whips no more shall crack.
Wheat and barley, oats and hay,
Clover, beans, and mangel-wurzels
Shall be ours upon that day.
Purer shall its waters be,
Sweeter yet shall blow its breezes
On the day that sets us free.
Though we die before it break;
Cows and horses, geese and turkeys,
All must toil for freedom's sake.
Beasts of every land and clime,
Hearken well and spread my tidings
Of the golden future time.
He also had the most interesting farm of the three it had recently been overrun by the farm animals the name had changed from "Manor farm" to "Animal farm."
We were planning to recapture Manor/Animal farm on this night. This time we are going to bring guns though.
LATER THAT NIGHT...
Okay we had all gathered outside Manor/Animal farm, and we all had our guns we were ready to fight. We barged through the gate, but to our surprise the animals seemed to know we were coming. The pidgins were bombarding us with their feces and the geese were pecking at our calves and ankles.
" Arrrg. We have to hit these animals off with the backs of our guns." Cried Jones
So when we finally knocked the pidgin and the geese off, the second line of animals came charging at us. Among these animals were sheeps, pigs, goats, and donkeys (well one donkey). And the animals started butting us from all sides.
"Crack "went the guns when we started firing at the animals. But the good news is the animals seem to be retreating. So we chased them to the cow shed were the next line of animals came out at us these animals were horses, cow, different pigs and all the animals from previous charges.
We are definitely out numbered right now these animals seemed to always be one step ahead of us. We were getting destroyed
"Retreat" Someone yelled, I'm not sure who it was
So we all retreated. Running as fast as we could, until we were out the gate. Once out of the gate someone asked
"Were is William"
Someone else replied
"The last time I saw him was when he was fighting that massive horse. And I saw hit his head. "
I replied "What if he is dead"
We all yelled that we would make the animals pay next time. All we could think now was poor William.
So we all went back to the bar to bandage our battle wounds and to tell the Smiths (William's family) what happened.
We will have revenge on those animals mark my words!
THE END
