Disclaimer: Nope, nope, anddddd nope.
Summary: Inspired by Cassandra Jean's drawing of Shadowhunters and Pokemon. In which the Herondales visit old friends and come face to face with their biggest fear.
"By the Lugia, what is that thing doing down here!?"
Alec raised an eyebrow, and then turned back to his clipboard, continuing his scribbling. "That thing, as you call it Jace, is Psyduck. Plus we're doing research on Water-Type Pokemon at the moment, in which Psyduck falls under that category. Anything else?"
"It's a duck Pokemon!" Jace yelled from where he and Will had backed up against a wall, their Pokemon looking at them in puzzlement before running off to play with the other Pokemon in the facility. "It's dangerous!" Said Pokemon tilted its head to the side. "Psyduck?"
"Water-type Pokemon, Jace." Alec corrected, turning around to face him now, lips twitching in amusement as he pushed up his glasses. "But then again, I forgot the two of you had an idiotic fear of Pokemon that resembles ducks."
"It's not idiotic in the least! They are horrible creatures! Once they eat your bread they'll haunt you for life! They'll brainwash you into feeding them for life! Never trust a Psyduck!" Alec sighed and bent down on one knee to pat the duck-like Pokemon affectionately, earning strangled sounds from the two Herondales. "They are supposed to eat, Will."
"They steal all your food and brainwash you! Period! You!" Jace pointed an accusing finger at Psyduck. "Let go of my soul brother this instant now! Riolu, back me up!" From where it was playing with Cubone, Alec's Pokemon near the river, Riolu looked at his Trainer, to Psyduck, and turned back to continue playing with Cubone, much to Jace's horror and Alec's amusement.
"Traitor!" Jace yelled, his voice echoing loudly in the glass dome of the research facility. Will let out a snigger as his cousin glared at him. "Too bad cousin, that your Riolu shows more dedication to Cubone than it does to you. At the least, Quilava won't do that to me, won't you, Quilava?"
They were promptly greeted by the sight of Quilava chasing Butterfree, Jem's Pokemon, around, clearly ignoring his Trainer as well. "Quilava! After all the time we spent together!?" He scowled as it was Jace's turn to let out a laugh. "Who's the traitor now I wonder?"
"What's the commotion here?"
"Jem! You made it in time!" Jace ran over to the bewildered silver-haired man and looked at him pleadingly. "You must save Alec from that horrible monster over there!"
"And sacrifice Jem to do it? Never!" Will yelled, running over and crushing his best friend in a hug. "Deal with it yourself!"
"He's your common enemy too!" Jace shot back in return, running over and pulling Alec by his hand before crushing him into a tight hug as well, much to Alec's shock and exasperation.
Before Will could retort back, a sound drew their attention to the Pokemon who was currently in the middle of both parties. "Psyduck?"
That day, the facility was filled with screams of varying levels.
