Garland
one; Wendy (tracing)

Wendy sits there, kicking her feet back and forth, back and forth, while pointing out dots in the sky, swaying stars glued to a black sheet. She peeks to her left and right sides, blinking at the intense lantern she rests on. The face of Big Benjamin, one of London's most spectacular sights indeed. She thinks a little smugly what better a sight it is with Peter kicking his feet next to her. Neverland was wonderful–and so was that other boy, too–but nothing is quite as amazing as resting against the face of Ben while holding hands with a little redheaded boy who has all the confidence in the world. Instead, she traces the second star to her right with a determined finger. When three bright dots appear from it, darting across the sky as grandly as Peter ever has, Wendy's fingers follow them also. She sees a boy, a bird and dog (maybe)… and a key. So rather than submit to Peter's affections just yet, Wendy says goodnight and smiles.

Thank you, Boy, she says to the fleeting dot with the key.

I just may need my heart.
