Jar of Heart will still be my main priority, but I need something light hearted and fun to write. Without any secrets, mystery, darkness etc. This is also inspired by the book Alphabet Weekends, only that I added numbers and will only do 7 weekends. It's not going to be an all too long story.
Chapter 1
Anastasia was sitting in her chair, in front of her desk as she chewed on her pen. That is the only productive thing she managed to do the past hour and she slowly started to doubt that she'll get anything done today. It was one of those days where you simply couldn't use your brain. As much as you try, you can't seem to focus on anything or concentrate. It wasn't really helpful to be in such a state when you work for Grey Enterprises Holdings, but if it was simply for a day then Anastasia could afford it. After all everyone must have a day like this, even the multimillionaire Christian Grey who owns this company.
She knew she wouldn't get in trouble for not being productive today. Christian knew everything about Anastasia, and she knew everything about him. They were together 6 years ago and their relationship lasted for 5 whole years. Back then Ana was still in high school and Christian was in college, although he never finished because he started building his company. At around that time, when everything started to get hectic and busy for Christian, their relationship was going down hill more or less. They didn't do much together and so both decided to break up in friendly terms. And none of them would have expected that they'd be such good friends years after.
''Want to go eat lunch? I have about 43 minutes before my next meeting and I heard someone didn't eat as well?'' Christian's voice came from behind Anastasia. Out of surprise, she let her pen drop onto the floor and Christian was there to pick it up.
He eyed it and saw the prints of her teeth on the pen. She should be embarrassed, but she wasn't at all. They've been through a lot together, have seen every embarrassing moment of one another. Chewing on a gum was nothing. So instead of flushing, Ana smirked widely at him.
''True story. I am hungry.'' Ana replied to him as she took her chewed pen from his hand with a grin.
''And then you decide to murder this pen out of hunger?'' Christian chuckled. ''You could have called me. I wasn't doing anything important.''
''Sure the CEO isn't doing anything important at his work days. How productive. You sure you don't have an undercover CEO secretly doing your job while you rest and represent the company?'' Ana teased him as she rolled herself around in her chair. Christian chuckled at her.
''Who knows? Maybe I do? Perhaps he's the brain and I'm the body and face.'' Christian said as he stopped her chair. He was getting a little dizzy from seeing her turn over and over again. Ana rolled her eyes, but smiled. She knew how much he hated things that turn too fast for his eyes.
''And they couldn't have chosen someone better?'' Ana mocked Christian and playfully nudged him.
''Why? I think their choice was perfectly fine, Miss Steele. Or do you have anything against it?'' Christian asked as he suddenly decided to sit in her lap. Ana tried to push him off, but she was way too weak. He probably weighs double than Ana.
''Christian get off me! People might misinterpreter this.'' Ana moaned. Her hands were on his back, still trying to push him off her. Again with no success.
He knew she was right. If someone would storm into the room and saw them like this they'd assume they are together and that was what they wanted to avoid. At first Ana didn't want to take a job in his company. But for once she was living too far away so she couldn't always see him. And secondly she didn't have much luck in finding a job. By being one of her closest friends, Christian of course offered her a job. After a lot of arguments she finally accepted. This way they'd see each other more and Ana had her dream job. Being a publisher.
But with her working at his company, things can get a little complicated. For once some co-workers of hers always thought something was going on between them, just because she was the only one in the company he talked to also in a friendly way. Obviously since they are friends. In the beginning Ana insisted that he'd only talk to her if he really needed her. And that also in a way he talks to all employers. It got pretty weird after a while, since they're so close. But until now they've been able to separate their friendship from work.
''I'm not asking you again, Christian!'' Ana pouted in frustration. Then the idea hit her, how she could get him off very quickly. A smile spread across her face and she bit into his arm. Instantly he jumped off the chair.
''Geez you're turning into second Savannah?'' Christian groaned, rubbing his arm. Ana did have sharp teeth so he was thankful her teeth didn't rip into his suit. He did have a long working day after all.
''Savannah was which one again? Sorry Christian, but you've had way too many girlfriends.'' Ana said as she smiled triumphantly at him looking at his arm. That's what she liked the most about their friendship. They could joke around and no one would get mad in the end. They knew their boundaries very well and what the other one likes or not.
''My last one. Don't you remember? The one I had two months ago? She bit my fucking dick when we had sex, because she thought that's what you do when you have oral sex. How can someone even get such a stupid idea. It wasn't erotic at all, just fucking painful.'' Christian reminisced, his face was disgusted and scrunched up as he remembered the last time he had sex.
Ana burst out in laughter as she remembered it. ''Oh yeah right, that was freaking hilarious. Your face expression was hilarious, you pouted the entire day. I'd even say week.''
''Well my dear I'm pretty sure you don't have a penis. At least you didn't have one last time I checked so how would you know how it feels like. Because I can tell you, it's fucking painful.''
''So you got traumatized because of her? And that's why you stopped having sex?'' Ana said, barely able to contain her laughter.
''How would you know if I stopped having sex, Miss Steele?'' Christian asked, narrowing his eyebrows.
''You're like a cute open book with a pink fluffy front cover. It isn't hard to tell that you're frustrated, because you didn't get laid in a long time, my dear. I know you too well.'' Ana chimed and stood up from the chair. Her stomach was grumbling from hunger.
''Cut it Ana. It's not as if you have it better than me. Wasn't it that Jack run away while you had sex, because he wasn't able to get one up?'' Christian said and now it was his turn to burst out in laughter. Ana flushed at the memory.
''That was only once Christian. You're not being fair. He was okay before that little.. Incident.'' And he wasn't after it. He felt extremely embarrassed and things didn't work out for them. Which made Ana a single too.
You see even though they were a couple back then, their relationship has obviously changed. They were simply friends now, but since they know each other for such a long time, their friendship is deeper than most. There wasn't one topic that was a taboo to them, not even sex or talking about their relationships. They could trust and rely on each other. No one else would give them an honest advise on things like relationship, except the other one. None of them felt any jealousy while they talked about it.
Their relationship wasn't always as relaxed as it was now. The month after they broke up, none of them talked to each other. But they each missed the other one and decided to meet up to talk things through. They've acknowledged that it wouldn't work for them, so they agreed on being friends. And nothing more. In the beginning it was slightly hard to adjust, but they got used to it very quickly. Especially Ana. For Christian it took a little bit longer, but once he found a new girlfriend thing started to get better. But that didn't mean that he ever forget Ana. She'd always be his number one priority.
''Alright, before we both start to die out of hunger and then decide to eat all the pencils in this company, we should get something real to it.'' Christian suggested as he took Ana's hand. He was about to guide her out, but Ana stopped for a moment. Christian turned around and glared at her.
''Don't tell me you're gonna argue now about where we should eat.'' Christian sighed. Ana smiled genuinely and dropped his hand.
''No, you can choose. But we're still in the company, so tell me the name and I'll meet you there.'' Ana told him and quickly grabbed her bag that she nearly forgot.
''Ana, I don't care if anyone sees us. This is my company. You're my best friend. If anyone starts ridiculous rumors then that someone will stop working here.'' Christian said in his protective voice.
''You're gonna fire that someone?'' Ana laughed.
''Yes anything that would make you feel more comfortable here.'' He answered her, completely serious. Christian knew Ana was feeling uncomfortable working in his company, because of their past and mostly because she fears people would judge her. But he'd protect her at any causes. This was his company. He had the power to do anything he wants. If only one person gets the idea to say something about her, then he'd make sure that person will deal with the consequences.
''Christian.. You know I don't hate it here. I love my job.'' Ana says softly, looking directly in his eyes. As his best friend, she knew how much he cares for the ones he loves. Which aren't a lot. Just his closest friends, like Ana and his family.
''I know, but maybe you'd feel happier in another place. I could easily get you a job somewhere else if this gets too much for you.'' Christian replies. He was being completely serious. It wouldn't be hard for him to get her a new job. He'd simply have to recommend her.
''I'll think about it. But now let's gooo. I can't even properly concentrate. All I think about his food.'' Ana groans as she walked out of her office, Christian following her close behind.
''Don't you always think about food?'' Christian chuckled. In return he earned a deadly glare from Ana, which made him laugh.
''I'm not the one saying 'Ana eat, you must eat, you didn't eat a lot' yada yada yada.'' Ana winked at him.
''You don't eat enough. You never did. And for some reason you only do when I order you to do so. So don't complain, Miss Steele.'' Christian defended himself. They took the elevator and it surprised Ana that no one even looked at them. No one even bothered to see them together.
Christian's driver Taylor was already waiting for them outside of the building. They made their way to their favorite restaurant called Amici's. It was an Italian one and both of them had a thing for italian food. Ana liked the pizza's and Christian all kind of pastas. They used to spend a lot of time here back in the days. Because so many things in their live have been going on, no one of them had the time to really go out for dinner. Which was a shame.
''Seriously? Amici's? It's been ages amici!'' Ana giggled. Amici means friend in italian. It was their little inside joke. One of many.
''Yeah amici. '' Christian grinned. ''Thought we should eat here again.''
''But I have to get back in 40 minutes, Christian.'' Ana reminded him as they got of their car. Christian told Taylor to wait here, while they quickly ate.
''Same. We'll have to hurry then.'' Christian said and they entered the restaurant.
It wasn't surprising at all that every female turned their head at the handsome Christian Grey. It made Ana roll her eyes. She was used to it. It happened everywhere they went and now she's simply ignoring it. Even some of the employees recognized them and they immediately got a table in a section more excluded from the rest. Christian being a gentleman, pulled out a chair for Anastasia and she smiled as she sat down. Both ordered their meal and they started talking about random stuff.
''So thinking back about our conversation, I came up with something.'' Christian started and Ana had no idea what he was talking about.
''Which one? The one about our food, the pen or the fact that we both had ex partners who sucked.'' Ana asked. Christian shifted in his seat, but a grin formed on his lips.
''The fact that be both didn't get laid in a long time.'' Christian murmured.
''So you wanna get laid?'' Ana chuckled. Christian's eyes darkened.
''As if you don't want to. Your body is giving you away, Ana.'' Christian replied, half a smile on his face. He eyed her carefully and she narrowed her eyes.
''Yeah I do. I feel as if my life has gotten way too boring. It's just about work now. I need excitement.'' Ana told him, just when they got their food. As usual Ana had a ruccola pizza with tomato and mozzarella and Christian had spaghetti carbonara. Both of them started to eat immediately.
''What if we play a game?'' Christian suggested, between bites.
Ana laughed. ''You're switching topics from sex to playing a game?''
''No. It still has to do with sex. But also with spending time together. What if we spend 7 weekends together. Each weekend one will draw a letter and a number and with that we have to organize a weekend.'' Christian said.
''And that includes sex? Christian.. I don't know about it.'' Ana mumbled. Having sex with your ex lover and now best friend didn't seem like the best idea in the world. Then again he knew exactly what she likes and the sex with him back then was pretty amazing.
''Think of it as friends with benefits. We'll use it as a sort of release. It doesn't mean anything.''
Ana bit her lip, thinking about it. ''So each will draw a letter and we'll plan a whole weekend? And that for seven weeks? And we can do whatever we want?''
''Yes.''
''Okay. But the other one won't know the letter and number until it's actually friday night.'' Ana says, finishing her last piece.
''You agree to it? I really thought you'd say no to it.'' Christian grinned.
''There you see how desperate I am, Mr. Grey. But no one will know of it. And what are the numbers for?'' She asked.
''It could stand for time or something else. The one will decide.''
''Fine. But I'll pick the first letter.'' Ana grinned widely at him.
''What why? It was my idea.'' Christian countered.
''Where's the gentleman in you?'' Ana told him.
''Okay. But Friday is in two days. Good luck.'' Christian grinned triumphantly.
Ana nodded at him, well aware of it. She'd be under time pressure. And since they draw the letters, she couldn't think about it now. They'd have to meet up after work and talk about it more in detail. But she was looking forward to it. So was Christian. Both only thought of it as a game, a way to release their desire. Nothing more.
Watched fifty shades of grey yesterday and I absolutely loved it! Really don't get why so many are disappointed. Of course it wasn't as good as the book, but what do you expect from a 2hr movie. I loved it and the soundtrack is amazing.
