Prologue: The Inquisitors
The colossal amount of fear instilled in the Imperial Naval officers aboard the Executor rivaled the weight of five thousand Hutts. Darth Vader strode across the command bridge of the colossal Super Star Destroyer as he surveyed the frivolous Imperial agents hustling and bustling about their equally petty tasks. The Dark Lord of the Sith sensed their despair. He fed off of it, their dread adding fuel to the fire of his endless rage. Vader strode as fast as he could past his subservients. Their very existence annoyed him. He had more important business to attend to anyway.
Nearly two decades had passed since the eradication of the Jedi Order. Unfortunately for the new Galactic Empire, the presence of the Jedi continued to plague their plans. Vader was tasked with hunting down and eliminating the remaining detractors of the Empire, but even this was becoming to much for the Sith. The malicious mastermind had developed a new initiative to aid him in the destruction of the remaining Jedi. While Vader realized it would be nearly impossible to kill every force-sensitive being in the galaxy, maybe he could turn them to the Dark Side for his own benefits. Maybe, just maybe, he could create his own army of dark acolytes to do his bidding. Then he could finally have what he has always wanted. Control.
For his whole life, Vader had always been someone else's puppet. He had been subject to the whims of someone with more power than him. For all the years he had ever lived, the man had never been in control of his own destiny. Vader had always been a slave, ever since he was born. Then he was taken in by the obstinate and dogmatic Jedi, forced to retain his true talent. The Jedi never respected him. They feared him. Bewildered by the potential of his power, the Jedi attempted to contain Vader. The Jedi camouflaged their true intentions with erroneous vows of peace and tranquility. Unfortunately for them, Vader ascertained the truth.
With the help of Darth Sidious, Vader discovered the genuine nature of the dark side. The dark side appeared to be the answer to the enigmas that polluted his life. Nevertheless, with all the power he had mastered, with all of the authority and domination, he was still second to one. After all the years of fear, anger, hate and suffering, Vader was still submissive to the one being who helped give him his power. Sidious. The venomous demon that was his master held a choking leash around Vader's neck. No longer. No longer will I be forced to comply with the desire of others. Soon I will control my own destiny. Soon, I will have my revenge! Vader thought. The time was coming for Vader to make his play, but not yet. There was still much planning that needed to be done. The puzzle was not yet finished. However, pieces were beginning to fall into Vader's lap.
In stead of killing force-sensitives, Vader sought to convert them to his evil ways. He could train them in the dark arts, craft and mold them into his image. When he had compiled enough servants, then he would move against his enemies. He already had a good start. The first piece of his puzzle had been laid. Vader's first Inquisitor was ready.
A tall and pale male Pau'an stood by the large observation windows on the Executor's bridge. The deep ridges in the alien's skin were as prominent as the crimson tattoos that lined his elongated face. The bridge of his nose was long, like his face, with a small pointed end. The Pau'an's eyes were an ailing yellow with fiery red pupils. He wore grey and black combat armor accompanied by similarly colored boots. His menacing appearance struck fear to all who saw him. He would be a suitable pupil for Vader's use.
"The time has come for your reckoning, Inquisitor. You have been subjugated to my teachings and have grown much in the dark side of the Force. Yet, you still have much to learn," Vader said, "That does not mean I have no use for you."
The Inquisitor turned to face his master. He lowered his head as he bent on one knee.
"What is thy bidding, my master?" asked the Inquisitor.
"As you know, at one point in time, the Jedi held an iron fist around the galaxy. They are all but extinct now. Few of their pathetic religion are left. We are tasked with destroying the remnants of their feeble kind," Vader replied.
"Yes master, the Jedi will soon be crushed beneath the souls of our boots! Their final destruction will come by our hand!" exclaimed the Inquisitor.
"Do not become to eager my apprentice. Do not underestimate the power of your enemy, it will be your undoing," said Vader, "Although, I may have some use for a select few of the remaining Jedi."
"Lord Vader? I'm not sure I understand," replied the Inquisitor.
"Your job will still be to seek out any surviving Jedi, but there will be a select few of your targets that I will not have you kill. You are to take those Jedi and bring them to me," commanded Vader.
"As you wish my master," the Inquisitor responded.
"You will be the first piece in a larger puzzle Inquisitor. See to it that you do not fail me. It would be a tragedy to see all your years of training and preparation go to waste," said Vader.
"I will not rest until I have carried your every last command Lord Vader!" the Inquisitor replied.
"For your sake, Inquisitor, I hope so. Now, are you ready to fulfill your destiny?" asked the Sith Lord.
"Where do we start?" answered the Inquisitor.
