This is my first fanfic that is not Attack on Titan. I've been planning this for a while and I'm happy to finally share it with you guys. I know that the most recent chapter of "Adopted Love" said it would be about a week before I posted this but what the hell? Anyway please enjoy and if you do PLEASE REVIEW AND FAVORITE! Thank you and I love you all!
It's been almost a year since the Nowhere islands were destroyed and the dragon created a new world. The people of Tazmilly village and all of the other places on the islands all were able to make it to this new, seemingly endless world. The thought of having a whole new land to explore and live in was a mind-boggling thing for the people. New creatures that weren't chimeras, uncharted territories veiled in darkness, and maybe, just maybe, other people from other worlds that made it here.
Everyone was happy here. There were still modern things in a lot of towns and cities but some towns still stuck to a relatively old fashioned lifestyle. But even though the people had different ways of living, the people still knew a loved each other and always stayed in contact.
Even Lucas, the boy who watched his mother get stabbed through the heart in front of him, lost his brother for years due to being too weak to help him, watched his whole life get changed before his very eyes and everything he held dear taken from him and changed his whole way of living, saw innocent animals turned into robots of war, and when he finally found his brother again after all those years he was forced to kill him and he died in his arms. Even that boy, found happiness in this new world.
However, not everything was great.
Duster, the thief with a limp, the man who accompanied Lucas and helped save the world. That man, could not bring himself to enjoy this world. He barely talked anymore. He still played with the DCMC but never smiled during the shows. He mostly just sat by the docks in the town of New Tazmilly and just stared out at the sea. Everyone knew he was sad about something, but no one had the courage to ask.
.
.
One evening, after continuing the work of trying to break Porky out of the Absolutely Safe Capsule so he could pay for his misdeeds, Princess Kumatora took a walk down to the docks to clear out her head. She had been trying all year but as Dr. Andonuts said, it was impossible to open it.
While the pink haired woman was walking by the ocean by light of the full moon, she saw Duster on a wooden dock with his feet hanging over the side. She decided to go and say hello to him.
She walked up the dock to him and before she could say something, Duster spoke "Hello Kumatora."
"How'd you know it was me?"
"I recognize your footsteps." Duster said while grinning.
"Impressive. Can I join you?" Kumatora asked curiously.
"Go ahead, I don't object."
Kumatora sat down on the dock next to the brown haired man and dangled her feet over the water. "How's the capsule?" He asked.
"Still sealed shut. We can't hear him inside, but we can see him through the window. He want's to get out but he knows he never will. That capsule can withstand a black hole and the end of the universe. No matter what, he'll still be immortal forever but have nothing to do but sit in that hunk of metal and exist!" Kumatora explained.
"He wanted to destroy everything so only him and the dragon would be the only things left alive. So he got what he wanted. He may be miserable now, but that's his punishment: Getting what he wanted." Duster said.
She looked up at the sky. "It's kinda pretty. Reminds me of the old island sky." Kumatora said remembering.
"Yeah. The island." Duster said in a sadish voice while holding his head down.
Kumatora looked at him with slight worry and said "Look, what's wrong? You're always out here alone, you barely talk anymore and when you do you seem sad."
Duster sighed and told her the problem "It's just… I miss it."
"Miss what?"
"The Nowhere islands." He told her.
"Why do you? We have this amazing new land! We're free to explore, enjoy and live. Why do you miss the islands?" Kumatora said to him.
"It's not really the islands I miss, it's my old life, our old lives. Being a treasure hunting thief with my dad, living with nature, and everyone's generosity." The mustached man explained. "Sometimes I want to go back to how things were before. Before greed, before chimeras, before the march of the pigs...and before Porky!"
"Why are you mad at the Pigmasks? They weren't bad at heart. They were just brainwashed by Porky!" Kumatora reminded him.
"I know. But now I can't even look at a pig without being haunted with memories." Duster said.
Kumatora sighed and nodded "I see what you mean. Our lives were perfect before the forest fire hit, then our lives changed forever."
She continued "But now we have a new world, a fresh start, and we can make it what we want. Not just for you or me but Lucas, Flint, boney, your dad and everyone else. We have a new chance to not even make it just like our old lives, but better!"
Duster sighed and smiled while thinking of what the world could be like. He thought about if it could be better than the Nowhere island, he first thought it couldn't be possible. But soon a indescribable vision came into his mind, of a perfect world. A world he could help make.
"You're right Princess." Duster said.
"Don't call me Princess! I honestly don't like it! Ionia and the others only called me that after the white ship people told them to care for me! I have no real royal blood!" The tomboyish woman explained to him.
"By the way, do you ever miss the Magypsies?" Duster asked.
"Of course I do! But they knew that they'd eventually disappear. They were prepared for it." Kumatora said.
"But, were you prepared for it?" Duster asked.
Kumatora just sat there for a minute saying nothing. But soon he saw a tear, glittering from the moonlight run down her cheek. The only other time Duster saw her cry was after Lucas pulled the final needle.
"Oh my god! Why the hell did I ask that!? I'm so sorry!" Duster apologized.
"No don't apologize! I just never thought of it that way. I guess I was never really prepared. I suppose I just blocked out my sadness. I may act all tough and tomboyish, but in reality, I have feelings like everyone else." Kumatora explained while wiping her tears.
Duster moved a little closer and rubbed her back to comfort her, she looked up at him with a slight confused expression and the man stopped.
"Damn it! I'm sorry! I shouldn't have…" Kumatora cut him off before he finished talking.
"No, actually, please do it more." She said softly.
Duster obeyed and continued to rub her back gently. She began to speak "Duster?"
"Yes?"
"Never mind, it's nothing." Kumatora said changing her mind.
"No, please tell me." He insisted.
"I can't. You wouldn't get it." She told him.
"You won't know that unless you tell me." Duster replied.
She sighed and talked "I've been wanting to tell you this for a while, I've always kinda liked you. Not just as a friend or a partner but as a man, I've had these feeling's since that day in Osohe castle. Why do you think I spent three years looking for you? I wanted to see you again. I really like you, in fact… I might even...love you!"
The pink haired woman turned her head away. She felt so embarrassed now. She now could not look at him. She was about to get up and leave. But before she could, she felt someones hands grab her head and turn it around.
Before she could react she felt someones lips press against hers. It took her a second but she realized what was happening. 'Damn! Duster is kissing me!' She thought to herself.
He continued to passionately kiss her. Gently but firmly pressing his lips into her while he calmly rubbed her soft pink hair. After about a minute of their lip-lock, he pulled away.
"Your breath… still kind of stinks." She softly spoke while giggling like she did when she was a waitress at club Titiboo.
"Kumatora, those feelings that you have for me, are only matched by the feelings I have for you. I view this world as a blessing and a curse, but when I'm near you, that bad feeling of this world vanishes. I love you too. I love you however you choose to be. Whether it be tomboyish and strong or girly and feminine, I will love you either way." Duster said while staring into her eyes.
.
.
After about ten minutes of hugging and kissing, Kumatora spoke up "It's getting late. Your house is all the way across town, wanna crash at my place?" Kumatora said while smiling.
"That would be great. My leg does make it difficult to walk sometimes. I may be able to walk, but I prefer not to." Duster replied.
"Well, preferring not to walk is a common thing, whether you're handicapped or not." They both laughed.
They both stood up on the dock and Duster offered her his arm. She grabbed onto it and they made their way to Kumatora's house.
.
.
When they were on the deck of her house, before they went in, Duster spoke up "We have this new world, a new future together, and I want to experience it. But not alone. Kumatora, will you join me in traveling these new lands, finding new creatures, finding new treasure and spreading peace throughout the world for our next generation?"
"There would be nothing I would love more. I'll do it Duster, for us and… maybe for… our child." Kumatora said the last part slowly.
Dusters eyes widened but then he smiled and kissed Kumatora on the lips lightly.
They then went into her house and they both climbed into her bed. And began the start of creating the next generation.
PLEASE REVIEW! This was more of an experimental fanfic. This is not a series and I have no plans to release one. But anyway, I'll see you guys later. I hope to have the next "Adopted Love" up soon!
