Far from his ancestral home,

He wandered lands alone

Bereft of kinship, oath, and trust,

Lived the life of solitude.

What hope had he, the mongrel child

Of finding freedom from his past

None know how long he passed condemned

And most believed he'd meet his end

Yet stronger will hath n'er been forged

Relentlessly he carried on.

Then, she, his life absorbed.

The most unlikely one to adore,

A miko, his kind's holy bane

Captured his heart and stilled his rage

'Twas she who held the sacred jewel

An ancient power and evil's tool.

To be reforged by righteous thought

And vanish from the mortal world.

Yet when fear doth fester in thy hearts

An evil mind will, its daemons warp

And twist thy love to blinding hate

So the ancient prophets say

And so it was that one that darkened day

The lovers fell to the Black one's game

A dual betrayal wrought of fear

An arrow charged with baleful tears

A potent seal, a tainted jewel

A prophecy whose portents grew

A shadow rose across the lands

Its hatred consuming all

Yet, one that day, in a distant isle

A wizened sage who trough his guile

Had linked his fate unto the jewel

Uttereth'd his final news

And on that day spoke the words

A requiem for the hanyou boy

Who unwillingly was evil's toy

Fifty years in silence bound

Spirit of the wayward found

The jewel –

His love's last wish fulfilled

And gave new life and fuller hope

In ages not yet twined in fate's rope

To the girl he once adored.

No power on this earth can hold

What true soul's power hath made whole

No deeper force than rekindled hope

Relighting the love and freeing the soul

Now he wanders once more,

But now he wanders not, alone
