Endless sunshine.
Mikan walked around the streets of Central Town, not knowing where she was going, but hoping her feet would somehow take her to the front steps of the bookstore she longed to be in.
She looked up at the sunny sky as she walked. Her spaghetti strap shirt blew in the hot wind. Her crisp jeans were rolled into knee highs. She wore pink flip flops and her hair was in her usual two pony tails.
She heard a few men walking her way and they bumped her frail shoulder when they passed.
She fell to her butt and they just walked passed. Tired and upset, she let her body fall the rest of the way to the floor. Her head hit the brick ground and she faced the sky again. The few clouds that were there were moving quickly
Reminds me of…
She closed her eyes, remembering the day she first cane to Gakuen Alice. The first day she met Natsume.
That was a long time ago she thought. By now they had reached the high school division. She had not forgotten the things they went through together. She remembers everything that happened with Natsume. Every moment. Every word.
I wonder if he remembers
Suddenly a shadow blocked the bright warm sunlight and her eyes flickered open, to meet a pair of sharpened rubys.
"Natsume," She said, acknowledging his figure.
"What are you doing laying in the road Polka?" She sighed, the nicknames always stuck, no matter what.
She stood up, caressing her sore shoulder.
"I tripped."
"Idiot." He said and turned around about to walk away.
"N-Natsume…?" He stopped and turned his head, waiting for her to speak again but her eyes faltered and she suddenly found the tile a bit more interesting then usual.
"Yes?" He asked, sounding annoyed and still managing to throw in a tinge of "I care about what you are going to say" with his voice .
"Do you remember…?" She asked looking back at his unchanged eyes. They stared for a while. His face didn't waver. Mikan thought he wouldn't understand the questions
"Nevermi…" She began
"Yeah" He said, cutting her off. "Of coarse I remember…"
Mikan graced Natsume with one of her "star shining smiles" as he liked to call them. You know, the first smile he ever saw on her face. With her eyes closed and her hands in a knot. Lips looking kissable and hair blowing slightly. It was his favorite. It was certain beauty in his eyes. Something to behold. He locked the thought in his heart, and only took it out when he needed peace and soundness. When the world was hectic around him, all he needed to remember was the thought of the cherry girl smiling at him, shining brighter then any star. Lighting up the darkness of his world. Mikan.
