Summary: A brief ficlet when the Weasley twins realize the consequences of one their pranks. Takes place the summer before CoS. This was something I realized while reading the first book out loud to a friend of mine.

Face Full of Snow
In the lazy month of June in Ron's vivid orange room at the Burrow, Fred and George Weasley sat listening to their little brother retell exactly what had happened at the end of the year with regards to Quirrell and the stone. When Ron came to the point in the story when Quirrell unwrapped his turban to reveal Voldemort's livid face sticking out of the back of his head, the twins' jaws dropped. Ron's story finally came to a conclusion and the three brothers sat quietly for a few moments. Out of the blue, George began to laugh.
"What?" said Fred.
George struggled to maintain his composure and, after breathing in deeply several times managed to stutter out,
"Fred . . . d'you remember what we got in trouble for . . . in December?" he took another deep, shaky breath, "What we got detention for?"
Suddenly, Fred was laughing too, holding his side. He gave George an exhilarated high-five, before turning to his sulking little brother.
"What's so funny?" asked Ron suspiciously.
"In December, after it snowed, we," he laughed harder and had to pause before continuing, "We bewitched snowballs to follow Quirrell around bouncing off of the back of his turban."
Ron tried not to laugh but failed and then exclaimed, "You two, have done what no one has done before: hit You-Know-Who in the face with a snowball!"
Reviews make me happy. And my muse will be happier too. *grins*
"The lake froze solid and the Weasley twins were punished for bewitching several snowballs so that they follwed Quirrell around bouncing off the back of his turban."
