DH SPOILERS!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Ron gazed at Hermione with hope in his eyes, his heart pounding against his chest. He sat on the coach at the Burrow "reading a book" while watching Hermione read while laying on her stomach in front of the fireplace. Ron thought she looked so beautiful with the firelight caressing her smooth light skin. Ron knew he fancied her, heck he had fancied her for a long time now and he wanted to believe she felt the same. Ron hoped that Hermione fancied him after the passionate kiss they had shared during the war at Hogwarts. It had been a month since the war and neither him or Hermione really had any time to bring up let alone discuss the topic. After the war they had been so busy with the Ministry who had to know all about the war and their experiences. Ron and Hermione had come such a long way with their blossoming relationship and it finally was going in the direction Ron wanted it to. He knew he should ask Hermione about it, if he didn't who knew what would happen? Ron took a deep breathe walked over to where Hermione was and sat down next to her. He saw Hermione smile slightly but still continue reading her book as if waiting to see what he would do. Ron hesitantly put his hand in her hair and took a bushy curl in his finger and pulled it slightly. Hermione set her book down and faced him a smile on her rosy pink lips.
"Yes Ron?" she asked so innocently.Ron's ears went bright red as he looked down at his feet.
"I wanted to talk to you about the night of the war."
Hermione's smile faded away instantly and sat up sitting across from him.
"What about that night? Did you want to talk about...about...Fred?"
Ron deep blue eyes immediately caught her brown ones. Ron thought his heart had stopped. Here he was about to talk to her about the possibility of a "them" and she brought up him? Ron didn't like to think about him, it only brought pain. Ron knew it wasn't Hermione's fault for bringing him up, Ron had been pretty vague and so many things had occurred the night of the war.
Hermione brought her hand up to rest on Ron's flushed cheek and smiled sadly at him.
"You can talk to me about it Ron, really, it's okay."
Ron swore he could see tears forming in her eyes and so brought his hand to hers on his cheek and brought it down although not letting it go.
"No. I actually wanted to talk about...us."
Hermione's eyes grew in shock and she immediately looked down in embarrassment.
"Oh, well alright." she whispered
"Well you remember what you did that night? When you umm...you..."
"Yes, I kissed you." Hermione said clearly boring her eyes into his.
Ron nodded stupidly before adding, " Well I was wondering if that meant you fancied me."
"Yes, I always have you big git." Hermione replied still holding on to Ron's hand.
Ron gave Hermione a goofy grin and replied,"Well I fancy you too, I have for a while."
"I know that Ronald, don't you remember I know everything?"
Ron's smile grew as he leaned in towards Hermione and she did the same until their lips finally met. The kiss was soft and sweet much like their first kiss although instead of kissing in front of Harry during a raging battle against Voldemort they were in a very peaceful setting. Ron cupped her cheek with his hand as Hermione lightly rested her hands on his chest. The kiss was not fierce, not passionate, but innocent, a innocent kiss of hope and love. They then both pulled away both grinning madly.
"So, does this mean you'll be my girlfriend Hermione?" Ron asked nervously
Hermione wrapped her arms around his neck and whispered, "Yes" before kissing him again sweetly on the lips.
