Once upon a time, there was a wonderful and prosperous kingdom. The kingdom was beautiful - full of colors, music, and life.

The heart of that life rested in the palace where the royals lived. There was a king, a queen, and their thirteen sons, the princes.

The princes were certainly a lively bunch; they often gallivanted about the kingdom, spreading joy and happiness in their wake. The princes, you see, were all very talented when it came to nearly everything. Some were very smart, being able to solve the most complicated of math equations. Some were very creative, constantly creating works of art and wonderful flowing music. Others were very strong, and used their strength to play sports.

In spite of all their differences and various different talents, there was one thing all of the princes were good at: Dancing. All types of dancing they were good at - and not only were they good at dancing, but they all loved to do it!

Well...almost all of them. The last prince, the youngest one, was not at all like his brothers. He was a loner type, never really associating with the other princes. He was quiet, and therefore, was often cast aside.

When he grew older, the other princes decided to teach him how to dance. They all dressed up in the finest of clothes, and even scheduled a ball. Even though their brother was a little on the odd side, they still believed he would possess the natural dancing ability they did.

They were completely and incredibly wrong.

When their brother set foot on the dance floor, he immediately became the laughing stalk of the kingdom. You see, that particular kingdom had a very particular type of dance. It was wild and lively and quick, but it was beautiful nonetheless.

The youngest brother tried to keep up with the other princes' dancing, but he was hesitant, and not as near sure footed. He ended up falling over himself, his fancy clothes falling around him in a comical fashion.

He left then, of course, his embarrassment great.

Later on, when he was alone in his room, he continued to try and dance as his brothers did. However, the results remained unchanged: He was incredibly clumsy, and was unable to dance gracefully like his brothers.

As time went on, the thirteen princes grew older. The king died, followed by the queen, leaving the eldest son to take over. The princes wed, had children, and ended up having wonderful lives.

Well. Almost all of them.

Yet again, the last prince did not find those sorts of things as easy as his other brothers. And again, the other princes did not support him.

And again, he was alone.

Perhaps that was why he turned out to be the way he was.

A/N I looked around for a fairy tale that Hans and his brothers' story could have been based off of...and the only thing I really came up with was "The Twelve Dancing Princesses". So I tweeked it...a bit...
