As soon as she picked up the morning's paper, Nellie Lovett knew that the barber residing above her would need to close shop today. Hurrying upstairs with his breakfast and the newspaper, she silently handed both to him. He began to read the article, disregarding the food.

"No..." he whispered.

Sweeney Todd's greatest fear, and perhaps his only one, was not exacting his revenge upon the man who ruined his life and the lives of many others. Judge Turpin had to die at his hand and his hand alone. If not...

But Sweeney didn't finish that thought. Reading the article again, he wondered if he had already gone to Hell, because only in Hell did he think his worst fear would come true.

Local Judge Found Dead in Mansion; Coroner Rules Death Suicide

The body of Edmund Turpin, one of London's finest judges, was found today in his mansion. After examing the body, with no evidence of foul play, the coroner stated that the death is a suicide.

Turpin left no note.

He is survived by his adoptive daughter, Johanna Barker, as well as close family friend Beadle Oliver Bamford. The whole of London mourns with them.

The night prior...

Judge Turpin lost his Lucy to arsenic, his Johanna to a sailor, but he took his own life. Grasping a vial of poison similar to the one that had stolen his Lucy, he uncorked it and raised it to his lips, swallowing before he could change his mind. A few sputtering gasps later and Judge Turpin was no more.

A/N: So this is the first chapter of Unavenged. Basically Sweeney never got to kill Turpin, which drastically effects the plot. I don't really have an outline for the story, so I'll probably make it up as I go. Please review!
