Returning to Hyrule, seeing his grandfather, his friends, those who no longer depended on him. It was a hollow feeling: the happy homecoming of their hero, whom they had thought would never return. The brief elation of discovery had passed and the truth had caught up with him.

There was no respite granted by Zelda's familiar face. A pale mockery of the beauty he had left behind. Her kiss was painful, her breath was as a jagged rock face compared to a gentle sea breeze and her touch was nothing but nails. She horrified him.

If he had stayed, maybe he would have found some selfish happiness. Happiness was but a dream, but in that dream he loved her - Marin, and she was gone because of him, by the song she taught him.
