Jane Shepard: Colonist, War Hero, romanced Kaiden but saved Ashley on Virmire, Paragon
"Shepard, you can't keep doing this. Throwing yourself into fights like that isn't like you and it sure isn't healthy."
"I just want to be with you again. I'm doing what they want, but if I die you can bet they won't be dragging me back a second time."
"Look, just... I don't know. I think you need to move past this. Take a chance on someone else. Give them the opportunity to get to know you."
"I talk to them, help them. I just–"
"You just won't let them help you. Shepard…"
"Kaiden… We lost our chance on Virmire. Then I got you back and now… I can't take that much more of this."
"You made the right choice. Ash's sisters need her and I didn't exactly have anyone waiting for me but you. What she said on Horizon was wrong, but you were another sister to her. Loosing you cut deep."
"Don't mention her, please? Thinking of her makes it harder to see you. Same way you disappear during fights."
"I'm always with you. You know that."
"I do."
"Jane? Could you please try talking to someone? Talk to Garrus."
"Garrus? Why?"
"He… He respects you, greatly, to say the least."
"I care about him, but not in that way. Old friends are becoming a luxury."
"How about Jacob?"
"No, no, no. If I have to hear one more comment about his butt from Kasumi I might loose it."
"What about the drell? Krios? You saved his son, and there was something in the way he watched you when you convinced Bailey on giving him community service."
"I-I'll think about it, okay? It's hard to talk to him since his wife is… like you."
"Hmm… You try and get some sleep. I'm going to talk with her."
"Oh, don't do that! I don't want to upset her and he's a good friend."
"Don't worry, love, I won't do anything to embarrass you."
"Alright. I love you."
"I love you too. G'night."
"Jane Shepard?"
"Hmm? Oh! Mrs. Krios!"
"Please, call me Irikah."
"Um, okay ma'am. If you don't mind my asking, why're you in my cabin?"
"You saved my son and husband from themselves. You've given resolution and acceptance to all of your team. You stand for those who cannot. But you give yourself no one to lean on."
"I have to be strong, ma'am."
"Your old lieutenant convinced me to talk with him last night; it was the first time I've left Thane's side since my death. He spoke highly of you, but I already knew most of the stories. Then the conversation turned to Thane–"
"Look, I'm so sorry if he said anything that offended you. I'm not going to–"
"I think you'd be good for him."
"What?"
"I have heard him trying to convince himself he doesn't see it, but you have the same spark which drew him to me."
"I – But he… I'll never replace you, Irikah."
"Just as Thane shall never replace Kaiden. Do not worry about the dead, Shepard; focus on the living."
"But what happens when we… you know?"
"I shall embrace my husband with open arms. And, when your time comes, we shall all be waiting for you."
"You're sure about this? You want me to move in on him?"
"No, we want you to find you both to fine solace in arms which can still hold."
"We? As in, you and Kaiden?"
"Yes. He's offered to show me the universe and tell me the romantic tales of the Alliance military to pass the time."
"Heh, that sounds just like him. Alright then, if you're sure…"
"I am. And Shepard?"
"Hm?"
"Thank you."
