I high-kicked at the swarthy figure, but the person had dodged it and
grabbed my leg. Twisting my caught appendage to my left, the figure tumbled
and let go, but immediately had returned to is previous spot. Growling in
frustration, I leaped forward, swinging a fist at my attacker. It
connected squarely with his jaw, and his mask flew off. "Holy shit!" I
cried, as the man- my father, laughed cruelly in my face. It was Xavier-
that bastard.
I woke up in a cold sweat. Perspiration dampened the thin nightshirt I wore, and my face was suspiciously streaked with salty streams of water. "I'm going to kill that bastard," my voice was hoarse with emotion, emotion being the ultimate power in my life- the one thing I could control. Manipulate. Read. But at that moment, I felt no power. I felt lost.
Once safely in my bathroom, I peeled off my damp night shirt and threw it into a rather full hamper. Stepping into the linoleum tub, I waited for the healing water to spray over me. As the water beat mercilessly on my back, I began to feel other's emotions rouse. I kept them damped down, of course. My own emotions were going haywire- I had no use of everyone elses. I delicately fingered a throbbing bump on my head. Anything to ignore my hatred- my pure hatred- of the father whom had left me for a school full of useless mutants.
Tears cloistered in my eyes, but they were lost in the steady stream of the water. I would repay him for what he did to me- and my mother. Grimacing, I slowly turned the water off, letting the remains swish down the drain. He would pay.
