Nothing is impossible
'Harry, you must hurry, the ceremony is about to start!'
Harry didn't even look up when Hermione stormed into his chambers, Ron on her heels.
'I'm coming,' he said, trying to sound bored.
There was only one reason he wanted to go to the ceremony, and it wasn't one that had to do something with his study. He followed his two best friends out into the gardens of Hogwarts. This would be the last ceremony he would attend to, except for the Leaving Feast tomorrow. Then he and all his classmates would leave Hogwarts and either go to Wizarding College, or begin their jobs. Harry planned to do neither of them. He would take some of the money his parents had left him and go travelling. He didn't know if he would ever come back. With Voldemort vanished, he could finally do what he wanted. Well, he could do whatever he wanted, except for one thing. But he already accepted that would never happen.
In the gardens were rows upon rows of chairs. For every student, their parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandpa's, grandma's, and every family member they had invited. No one was there to see Harry graduate, except for the Weasleys and his friends. But they would've been there even if he didn't graduate today.
Dumbledore made a speech, and then McGonagall came forward with a list of names. Before she could start calling names, Dumbledore interrupted.
'Before any of you are called up here to get your diplomas, I would like to invite Mr. Harry Potter up here,' he said.
Harry sighed and stood. He walked to the podium and stood next to Dumbledore.
'Mr. Potter succeeded previous Christmas in defeating Voldemort, and the Ministry wants to thank him for that.'
At that, Fudge walked to the podium.
'Mr. Potter, today, I have the privilege to award you with the Order of Merlin, First Class,' Fudge said, and he presented Harry with a medal.
Suddenly, reporters were everywhere, and only the clicking of cameras was heard. But Harry didn't pay attention to any of it. He was looking for someone, and he had been since he walked onto the podium. Finally, he spotted him, and Harry pushed through the throng of reporters to get to him.
Draco was watching, as he had done for a very long time. Watching Harry. Watching Harry get his Order of Merlin. Watching Harry not pay attention. Watching Harry suddenly look right at him.
When he saw Harry rushing towards him, he stood up, and when Harry skidded to a halt in front of him, Draco smiled down on him.
'Hey,' Harry said softly.
'Hey.'
'I wanted to ask you something,' Harry said, 'I have wanted to for a very long time, but I never had the courage to do so. And today I was scared this would be the last day I would see you, so I figured I had to ask now.'
He looked at Draco and smiled. Draco leaned down a little bit.
'You don't have to, I think I already know what you wanted to ask,' he said, and kissed Harry softly on his lips.
