Kathryn wasn't normal even for a wizard. Her parents, Catrina and Regalus Black, were the ministry's top spies. She was also one of Ravenclaw's heirs. Voldemort had found them out and they had been forced to flee to Ireland. Regalus was at the ministry (apparating had allowed him to keep his job). Her mother was baking a small birthday cake for their party with Thor. The door burst open five minutes after she had put it in the oven. Her mother threw an invisibility cloak on Kathryn.
"Catrina I thought I'd find you here." Belatrix said her wand pointed at Catrina.
"It is my home," Replied Catrina drawing her wand. "And I would like you to leave."
"No can do. I am under strict orders from The Dark Lord."
"And it was you who were sent to kill me because…"
"He would have killed you had he not been preoccupied by Regalus."
"Do you really want to kill me?"
"No but it must be done. You always follow Voldemort's orders. You failed to realize that, and it will cost you your life" This was it she was cracking. None of Voldemort's supporters called him by his name, at least not Belatrix.
"I still don't understand why it was you He sent. You were the most likely to start torturing rather than just killing."
"Two reasons one: He knew I could find you with out Him needing to track you using the dark mark"
"It was either a stroke of luck or he's finally starting to think"
Belatrix gave a fake laugh and asked "why would you say that?"
"Because," she said pulling up the sleeve of her robe "it is gone, as you can see." Belatrix looked stunned. "It was a little trick Marry Ann taught me."
"Back to what I was saying earlier two: Lusarious taught me a spell. You will die, but for the short time you live it will be complete torture"
"Now that is much more you."
"I am done talking. H.V.D." An electric pink heart shot out of the wand. It headed straight for Catrina. Then Belatrix obviously unsure what to think walked out the door.
Kathryn threw off the invisibility cloak and ran to her mother. Catrina handed Kathryn the wand and whispered "Ravenclaw's last relic. Use it with care." Then she died.
That day was July17, Kathryn's birthday. It was a good thing Thor was coming over later. If not who knows how long she would have been alone. Her dad never came back. At the orphanage she was sent to all ties to the magical world were broken. Accept for Ravenclaw's wand. She eventually completely forgot she was a witch.
