Losing you

A/N: I'm sorry and not sorry for this, this is a head canon as to why they're so overprotective of their children. Adding to fact that this was their first child, I can see why.

Sandy's POV

"Mr. and Mrs. Hedgehog, there's no easy way for me to say this, but your son...he didn't..." He stopped, wiping his hands on his coat.

Tightening my grip on the sheet, I dared to ask, "Where's my baby? Where's my...our son?"

He looked away, answering, "Ma'am, I'm so sorry; and I'm quite surprised you had no symptoms. But your son didn't make it."

Fixating my gaze on the blue sheet still gripped in my hand, a voice that didn't seem as my own muttered, "Take me home, now."

"But you need to-"

"I don't care. Just sign me out, would you? I'm sure y'all are just as sick of this mess as I am." I snapped, my voice still foreign.

He nodded, leaving with a deep frown etched on his face. Leaving, I barely even noticed I was in bed with two hands resting on my stomach, clearly one of them not mine. Do I really want to have kids after this?

A/N: Yeah, it was inspired by a song by 'Dead by April'. I don't own anything. Review if you want to, please don't kill me.
