Better Than an Alarm Clock
"Hey Nate, look, here comes Caitlyn!" shouted Shane Gray, of the insanely popular band Connect 3.
Nate span around so fast he knocked over his and Shane's drinks.
"Where? I don't see her Shane! Where is she?"
Jason and Shane high-fived and began laughing at their younger brother's desperate obsession with his girlfriend Caitlyn Gellar. Despite the fact that the two had been dating for months, Nate still acted like an anxious 13 year old around an attractive older women, when he was really 17.
"Ha, ha," Nate mocked them angrily. "You two are hilarious!"
"Yeah, we know!" Shane boasted, leaning back in his seat as Jason nodded frantically next to him.
"Look, just because you guys don't have girlfriends, doesn't mean you need to bug me!" Nate said while glaring at the two teenage boys who both had huge grins on their faces.
Nate rolled his eyes and went back to eating his eggs as he awaited the arrival of Caitlyn.
Ten minutes later Nate was done and sick of waiting for her.
"She is probably still fast asleep since it's Saturday," Nate thought to himself. "I'm going to wake up Cait, see you guys later," Nate announced ignoring his brothers' 'good luck' wishes. It was a commonly known fact around camp that attempting to wake up Caitlyn Gellar was like asking to be hung.
Two short minutes later Nate arrived at the door of Caitlyn, Mitchie, and Lola's cabin. He looked through their window and laughed. Two beds, Mitchie and Lola's, were neatly made while one still had a sleeping form, covered in a messy mountain of sheets and pillows. Nate shook his head and made his way toward the cabin door. Nate knocked on the door softly, hoping to wake Caitlyn gently, but there was no answer. He knocked again, louder this time, but still Caitlyn never stirred. Nate sighed and begrudgingly pulled out the spare key Caitlyn had given Nate. He hated using because he felt like he was invading the girls' privacy by walking in unannounced. What if Mitchie or Lola were changing? Nate shivered at the thought of how embarrassing that would be.
Once Nate had gotten the door open he prepared for battle. He picked up a pillow to shield himself from any potential airborne objects, all of which were sure to fly in his general direction. Nate walked over to Caitlyn's bed and slowly sat down, making sure not to move the bed too much.
"Caity, it's time to wake up," Nate cooed, rubbing the lump of material softly. The only response was a loud grunt and some movement under the mountain of sheets. "Come on, Caity! You have to wake up sometime!"
"No I don't!" denied a muffled Caitlyn.
"I'll do whatever you want…" bribed Nate, but Caitlyn didn't budge. "Ugh, come on Caity! Please get out of bed!" Nate begged.
Caitlyn poked her head out from under the covers and gave him a grin before sticking her tongue out at him. Before Caitlyn knew what hit her Nate's lips were on hers. Caitlyn began sitting up slightly, and slowly she found herself on Nate's lap.
Once they broke apart Nate laughed.
"Well, I guess I now know how to wake you up!" Nate joked.
"Shut up"
"Too bad it doesn't work on Shane or Jason. We could actually make it to a venue on time FOR ONCE if it did…" Nate mused.
"Weird mental image!" Caitlyn laughed.
"Yeah, that's very true!" Nate agreed.
"But, that was SO much better than an alarm clock!" Caitlyn smiled, wrapping her arms around Nate's neck. "Want to come live at my house during the school year and wake me up every morning?" Caitlyn joked. "My mom would really appreciate it!"
Nate laughed, "I wish!"
Caitlyn smiled and kissed Nate again. Once they pulled apart Caitlyn whispered, "Yup, definitely better than an alarm clock!"
