Third Wheel

Wirt had done it. He had finally scored a date with Beatrice. After having a few hangout sessions they were finally gonna go on a real date. They were gonna go get dinner and watch a movie. But there was one teensy weensy problem.

Wirt`s Mom made Wirt watch Greg for the night. So that meant he would have to come to the date. As Wirt got some nice clothes on, Greg sat on Wirt`s bed with his frog.

Greg asked. "Wirt, What movie are we going to see?"

Wirt replied. "Well, Me and Beatrice were originally gonna go see Hunger Games…..But because of you, we`re going to see Big Hero 6."

Greg unaware of Wirt`s non-enthusiasm said. "Wow! Is that the movie with the Marshmallow Robot? I like robots! I also like marshmallows! Where are we going to eat?"

Wirt sighed and said. "We were supposed to go to a French bistro but because of you we`re going to…Chuckletons…."

Greg said. "Oh boy! Chuckletons is my favorite!"

Wirt muttered. "Yep, Chuckletons…."

Later, Wirt, Greg, and Greg`s frog went to the graveyard to go get Beatrice. Greg hummed a tune as they walked.

Beatrice quietly waited for Wirt. She smiled when she saw Wirt turn the corner. But, then blinked. "Why is Greg here?"
Wirt said. "I had to babysit him."

Greg said. "But, I`m not a baby….And you aren't sitting on me. Yet..."

Beatrice smirked and asked as they walked along. "So, what movie are we seeing? And where are we going to eat?"

Wirt hesitated a little but didn`t have to say anything when Greg said. "We`re going to see Big Hero 6 and eat at Chuckletons!"

Beatrice blinked and looked at Wirt. She could tell that`s not what he wanted to do. They walked to the movie theater. Once, they got inside, Greg sat down with his big tub of popcorn. Wirt and Beatrice sat next to each other.

Greg would whisper something to Wirt every time a new commercial popped up. Wirt got really annoyed real fast.

Then, when the previews started, Greg would whisper to Wirt. "Can we go see that?" Wirt sighed.

Finally, when the short started, Greg shut up. Wirt sighed.

About, halfway during the movie during a training montage, Greg had fallen asleep. Wirt then said to Beatrice. "Do you want to go see if we can go see Hunger Games?"

Beatrice said. "I kinda like this movie more."
Wirt blinked then watched the movie as Greg woke up.

After the movie, they walked to Chuckletons.

Once they sat down, Greg started to munch on chips. Loudly.

Wirt winced every time he did so. Beatrice for some odd reason didn't seem fazed.

Afterwards, While Wirt and Greg were walking home. Wirt said. "Y`know Greg. You wern`t that bad. You actually improved the date."
Greg blinked and said. "Really?!"

Wirt nodded. "There`s one thing I don`t understand."
"What`s that, Wirt?"

"Why didn`t Beatrice get annoyed?"

"Um….Probably cuz She has a lot of siblings? Just a thought."

Wirt blinked.
