He should really be writing.
But honestly, can he really be blamed for the lack of words on the page when his wife is currently doing such a thorough job of distracting him?
She's got the day off and he's got no cases of his own. He'd hoped to spend this afternoon as they had spent her days off back when they'd first gotten together - in bed. But when Gina had called this morning interrupting his attempts to coax Kate into another round, the mood had quickly dampened at the sound of her frustrated shouts. It seemed as though Gina didn't give a rat's ass about Rick's newlywed bliss if it meant that he was late on yet another manuscript. She didn't understand that any day not spent worshipping at the alter of his wife's body was a day wasted.
Kate, not wanting to be to blame for his lack of productiveness, had kissed him soundly before sliding out of bed and telling him to write - that she'd find another way to complete her morning workout. He watched from his bed as she dawned her workout gear and exited. He'd expected that she'd go for a run.
What he hadn't expected was to emerge from their bedroom minutes later to find such an amazing view of her backside as she assumed some sort of forward fold position.
Now, its been nearly half an hour and he can see her through the spaces in the bookshelves that separate his office from the living room; the things that she's doing are absolutely sinful. Castle tilts his head to the side wondering how exactly she got her leg to do that and if maybe she'd be willing to try it in bed later.
Later?
Who is he kidding? He wants her and he wants her now. He takes one last look at the cursor blinking on the blank page before shutting his laptop and making his way to the living room.
Kate is leaning now in what he knows to be a Downward Dog position. As he approaches her, he can't help but to slide his palm across the curve of her ass. Rick is utterly oblivious to the smirk his actions elicit - she'd been wondering how long it'd take to coax him out of his office with just the curves of her body and the promise of just how flexible he already knows she is.
Kate stands slowly and turns to him as his hand travels to rest low on her waist.
"Like what you see Mr. Castle?" she asks, a knowing glint in her eye.
"I most certainly do, Mrs. Castle." he leers openly, eternally in awe of the fact that he gets to do so without her threatening bodily harm. "I'm impressed, I didn't even know some of that was possible."
She bands her arms around him even as she speaks, "Aren't you supposed to be writing? Creating some sort of plot twist for Nikki?"
"I'd rather see you twist" he returns, "c'mon Beckett, want to bend some rules with me."
She huffs a laugh, "You're incorrigible. And your puns need some work, Writer-Boy."
"You love me anyway" Rick says thoughtlessly, wishing immediately that he could reign his words back in.
"Yeah," she smiles. "I do."
Rick can't contain his grin as he brings a hand to her face and presses his smile to hers. He hopes he never gets over this - the complete joy that she bring to him. He can't imagine ever taking this love that they share for granted. Kate pulls back and begins walking toward the bedroom before turning back to him and speaking.
"C'mon, Ricky, let me show you a few of my moves."
And as always he follows.
