"Come with me, Barty," The stranger told me. "I can help you. You will have great power. All the people you hated so much, they will bow before you-otherwise, we can destroy them!" It was such a tempting offer; I was stupid enough to take it. Now I'm ashamed. I'm so so sorry for what I've done. If only there was some way I could travel back, stop this all from happening. I'm scared of Voldemort.

But now I've met the Doctor, and he's promised he can change things. Says he has a machine that can take him back in time, so he can dissuade me from becoming a Death Eater. He says I cannot go, mustn't see myself from the future. So I've agreed. I stay here and look for some mysterious stone, and he goes back and stops me being a Death Eater.

"Come with me, Barty," The stranger told me. "I can help you. You will have great power. All the people you hated so much, they will bow before you-otherwise, we can destroy them!" The twisted face, for once showed truthfulness.

"I-I- I'm not sure! I can get rid of absolutely anyone I ever disliked?" The young Bartemius Crouch Jr stammered. The Doctor stood by, uncertain of whether he should do this. Then again, he'd made a promise to a potentially harmful man. His thoughts were interrupted by Voldemort's reply.

"Yes-unless they are one of my loyal Death Eaters. Then you cannot harm a hair on their head." He forced a smile onto his face. It was a bad move- smiles don't tend to suit evil dark lords.

"Can I come back tomorrow? It's just I'm not really sure whether I should or not."

Voldemort didn't look very happy at this-yet he held his smile and said-"certainly, I look forward to it." He turned on the spot and Disapparated.

The Doctor made his presence known, causing Barty to jump. "I heard every bit of that conversation. I must stress that you should not join Voldemort. I have no authority over you, but I am much older and wiser than you, so I know that all his offers are lies. I'm the Doctor, by the way!" "Barty Crouch," he replied nervously, shaking the outstretched hand. "So none of that is true? I shouldn't join him?"

"Yes. Most of it was lies. I think, you should join him, or at least, pretend to join him, and help the side of good. That way, you don't join him, and he wont harm you." The Doctor smiled reassuringly, which made him look a lot nicer, unlike with Voldemort.

"Ok. I'll do what you tell me, because I'm just SO uncertain!" Barty replied, with a smile similar to the Doctor's, only it reflected relief.

"Goodbye, Barty, and good look," the Doctor said. "Wait, no! Don't go! I need your help!" but the Doctor was already gone.

As the Doctor returned, he was greeted with-"THAT'S where I recognized you from! You were the person who persuaded me from joining the dark side! But you don't look any older!" "Being a time traveler helps, Barty. Did you find that crystal?" He was replied with.

"Yes, I did. Here you go. And thank you, I've never been more popular in my life!" When he finished his speech, Barty ran forward, gave the Doctor a glowing purple stone, and hugged him tightly.

The Doctor returned the hug, and said, for the second and last time, "good luck Barty, and goodbye. I'll never forget you or your bravery."

The next day, Voldemort discovered Barty had been lying to him. The false Death Eater died crying.
