An Ouran Highschool Host Club Fanfiction

Haruhi let out a long breath. Hosting really took it out of you. She was done for the day anyways, and to be sure of this, she double checked with the Shadow King. Wouldn't him accusing her of skipping out on Host Club hours at all. After a sly smile from Kyouya, his glasses gleaming as he checked something on his laptop, Haruhi went into the back room away from the hustle and bustle of the Host Club, and began to patiently await Tamaki-senpai to call the club to a close.

She let her mind wander as she sat, her hands folded neatly in her lap, her head leaning up against the polished wood of the wall. Roses littered the table top beside her, and she smiled, before picking the delicate flower up and sniffing it. The colour was rich and full, a stunning red. Red… made her think of the twins for some reason. Probably their hair, she thought, smiling. Ah, Hikaru and Kaoru. So alike yet so completely and utterly different. When together, many thought the twins undistinguishable from each other, that their personalities, faces and voices matched- Haruhi knew different. Hikaru, so much more confident that his brother, cheekier, more mischievous- he wanted a fast paced life, in which he could go where he wanted, do what he wanted to do. Haruhi could picture Kaoru wanting to settle down with a pretty girl, have a couple of kids and raise them respectively. He was quieter than Hikaru, more reserved, slightly more intelligent, sweeter. Haruhi smiled as she thought of the both of them, broad grins set in stone on their handsome faces, ochre cat-like eyes glinting.

Glinting made her think of Kyouya. Always tapping on his computer, his intelligence so vastly superior to all of the rest of the Host Club's. He was handsome too, and Haruhi knew if his father were to give him the chance, he could be such an excellent business man. He too had an air of mystery about him, so much more hidden beneath the shiny surface he up kept, only showing the costumers what they wanted to see. An unbreakable, perfectionist. He was really very kind, Haruhi grinned.

Grinning wasn't far off Honey. If cake and Usa-chan were present, then he would be eternally happy, his boyish youth shining brightest of the entire club. Oh! And Mori. If he had Mori, then he would definitely grin. Both of them were so wonderful…

Wonderful. Only one person came to mind when she thought of that adjective alone. His sunny golden locks tumbling upon his head, mysterious lilac eyes sparkling with joy at only the tiniest of joys. His elegant fingers sweeping across ivory, weaving a tune so intricate it brought a tear to anybody's eye. Tamaki Suou was the perfect gentlemen, beautiful, kind and intelligent. Sure, he had his flaws, like his uncanny need to be hyperactive and start babbling about ninjas at the most inconvenient of times, but those were shadowed by the far greater list of perfect attributes. Haruhi sighed as she thought of him, her complexly structured mind working hurriedly as she tried to answer her own question.

"Haruhi?" She glanced up at the gentle voice. Tamaki had his head poked in through the curtains, and after a second of silence, the rest of the club members piled into the room beside Haruhi. She smiled as she watched them all. Kyouya adjusting his glasses, Honey hugging Usa-chan, Mori holding Honey securely on his shoulders, the twins teasing Tamaki.

"Which one to choose?" Haruhi asked aloud. She blushed as all eyes fell on her, and gazed at her hands. They all had beautiful eyes.

Gah, this was harder than she thought. They were waiting for her to say something. She smiled, and raised her head.

"I used to think that life was just like an anime," she said. Their handsome faces all became confused and she laughed, tilting her head a little. "You know… kiss, kiss, fall in love?"
