InuYasha and Kagome were fighting. Again. Shippo stared, bored, as the two screamed at each other from inches apart. It was another argument about Kagome needing to go back through the well for another 'test'. Shippo didn't care, she usually brought back candy. Candy is good...
He shook himself out of those thoughts and listened to the argument, even though it was the same old reiteration of reasons why and why not.
"InuYasha, I NEED to take this test! If I don't take this one, my grades go even lower, which means I have to stay longer in my time to fix it!"
"Keh! Whatever these 'grades' are, Kagome, you don't need them! You need to stay here and search for shards!"
"InuYasha, you know that..."
Shippo lost interest at this point. He'd heard it a hundred times before. Watching them still, he grinned suddenly as an idea sparked. Those two were inches apart, and leaning towards each other, yelling in each other's faces.
He stood up quietly and walked quietly to stand behind InuYasha. He leapt for InuYasha's shoulder, landing hard enough to overbalance him and send him falling forward. He didn't fall long however...
Shippo leapt from InuYasha's shoulder and stood of a little ways, watching the two. He resisted the urge to laugh.
InuYasha, trying to stop his fall, had reached out and grabbed Kagome's shoulders. Kagome, in an attempt to stop him from falling on her, had reached out and had her hands against his chest. But that wasn't the best part, no.
The first thing that had made contact with each other was their lips, since their faces had been very close.
The look on their faces was priceless. Eyes wide, they stood stiff, neither moving for fear of death by the other. Shippo couldn't resist any longer; he laughed.
This broke the frozen scene, as Kagome and InuYasha seperated, blushing, and turned to face Shippo. Rage was quite evident in their eyes. Shippo froze, the laughter stilling.
'Oh...crud..."
"Shippo, you runt, when I get my hands on you...!"
"InuYasha, may I handle this?"
InuYasha looked at her. If she was so mad that she was going to do something to the stupid kit, he was willing to see this...He nodded, a smirk forming on his face as he looked back at the kit.
Kagome walked up to Shippo, who by now, was shaking in fear. She squatted, looking Shippo right in the eye. She smiled at him, and some of his fear started to fade...till her hand shot out and grabbed him by the tail. She stood up abruptly and stared Shippo in the face. He shivered.
"She's scarier than I thought!'
"Shippo."
"Yes...?" He was cowering now, fear tingeing his voice.
"If you ever, and I mean EVER do that again, I will personally see to it that you never see candy again. AND I will let InuYasha do anything to you he wants to. Got it?"
Shippo nodded. Seeing this, Kagome dropped him.
'At least it stopped the argument...Though, seeing Kagome that scary...I'd rather hear the arguing.'
