"So you're sure you want to do this?" asked Edward, hopefully for the last time.

"I'm positive." I replied, and I was. I had never been surer of anything.

"Bella." He turned to look at me. "I know why you want to do this but it can wait. I don't want to take your life away. You should at least wait a few years."

I glared at him which is harder than it might sound. Edward is inhumanly beautiful which makes perfect sense considering he's not human. Actually he's a vampire and me getting turned into one is what we're once again arguing about.

"You promised." I pointed out. "You said you would after I graduated, besides, what if the Volturi show up?"

Edward didn't say anything but turned his attention to the road. I stared out the window at the unfamiliar houses. We were driving to Alaska where Edward was going to change me whether he likes it or not.

My cell phone rang, disrupting my thoughts. I sighed as I picked it up.

"Hello?" It was Renee. She sounded excited. If only Edward could read minds from so far away…

"Hey Mom!" I said, the excitement in my own voice sounding forced. I was hoping nobody would call unless there was an emergency.

"Hey Bella! I have some news and I know that you're headed to Alaska now but you need to pull over honey." She said.

I put my hand over my phone and turned to Edward. "It's my mom. Can you pull over?" I asked although I'm sure he heard the entire conversation.

"Okay Mom, what is it?" I asked.

"Bella," she paused before continuing, "You're going to have a baby sister."

I couldn't believe what I'd just heard. I couldn't find words to say. A baby sister? She was joking right?

"Bella are you alright?" Renee asked.

"Yes…Yeah I'm fine." I choked out. "When did you find out?"

"Well we found out it's a girl today…We would've told you earlier but we wanted to wait." She said.

"Mom. I have to go. I'll call you back later." I said, trying to calm myself down. I turned to Edward who was staring at me with an amused look on his face.

"Congratulations!" He laughed. "It's a girl!"

"Edward!" I said, unable to control my anger. "I'm going to have a baby sister! A sister that I might never be able to meet!"

It was true. Once I became a vampire I would have to stay away from humans for at least a year. After that I still couldn't go back and see anyone I used to know. I was giving up a lot but it was the only was to be with Edward, even if he couldn't admit it.

"Well there's always a way." He said.

Edward was right. There was another way, a way that would keep me human. Human and older than Edward who would be seventeen forever. I shuddered at the thought of being old. I couldn't be with Edward if that were the case and he knew it. And of course there was the Volturi, the closest thing to vampire royalty, who had made Edward promise to change me right away.

"I'm not changing my mind." I said.

"I know" Edward sighed. He looked sad. "It's just this is another part of your life that you're missing out on."

AN: okay so this is the first chapter obviously. R&R okay? It's my first try at a Twilight ff that isn't complete nonsense…I've always wondered what would happen if Bella found out she was going to have a little sister….
