AN: Just started writing and got this as a result. Arthur might be slightly OOC.

Enjoying the moment
Arthur sighed as he got back to his house in London. He threw the keys on the table in the hall and walked into the kitchen to make himself tea. He sighed softly as he rubbed his throbbing head. Other countries would be his death someday, he was sure about that.
He then heard someone playing piano somewhere in the house. Soon a soft female voice started to sing.
"I'm holding on your rope,
Got me ten feet off the ground
I'm hearing what you say but I just can't make a sound
You tell me that you need me
Then you go and cut me down, but wait
You tell me that you're sorry
Didn't think I'd turn around, and say..."
Arthur knew who the singer was but he had had no idea she could even sing. He was aware that she could play piano somewhat but wasn't aware how good she was.
"It's too late to apologize, it's too late I'd take another chance, take a fall
I said it's too late to apologize, it's too late
Take a shot for you
And I need you like a heart needs a beat
But it's nothing new
I loved you with a fire red
Now it's turning blue, and you say...
"Sorry" like the angel heaven let me think was you
But I'm afraid...
It's too late to apologize, it's too late
I said it's too late to apologize, it's too late"
He soon was facing back of teenage girl with dark brown hair. There was blonde highlights in her hair. She obviously hadn't heard him coming as she always stopped playing when someone was watching her. But her voice. Arthur was amazed, she had angelic, mezzo-soprano like voice. Arthur had heard the song on the radio before and her voice fitted the song perfectly. There was emotion in her voice, she went with the song. That probably explained why she hadn't heard him coming.
"It's too late to apologize, it's too late
I said it's too late to apologize, it's too late
It's too late to apologize, yeah
I said it's too late to apologize, yeah-
I'm holding on your rope, got me ten feet off the ground..."
As she stopped singing, Arthur set his cup on the table near him and applauded. She seemed startled by it and quickly turned around to face him. She had light green, nearly light blue eyes and was only about inch shorter than him.
"Arthur! You gave me a fright, I didn't hear you coming" she said, looking slightly embarrassed. Arthur didn't understand why. She could make a living with her voice.
"My dear, there's no need to be embarrassed. You have very beautiful voice" he said to her.
"So I've been told" she said. She didn't say it arrogantly or timidly. Her voice was even, neutral as she said it. Arthur could find a hint of insecurity in the voice. He chuckled slightly to himself.
"Why don't play something else? It was nice to listen to" he said. She raised an eyebrow to him.
"Do you have any idea how old that made you sound?" she asked, amusement clear in her voice and face. Still, she turned towards the piano and played other song. He didn't know the song, but it was clearly happier one. He took the teacup and sat on the chair near the piano.
Next time Arthur glanced at clock it was nearly seven. The sun was already setting but Arthur didn't want to break the serene atmosphere in the room. He glanced at her and saw she had her eyes closed, her fingers above the keys, playing. A small, content smile was on her lips.
Yes, for now he was filling to time go by. He didn't want to loose the calm moment he had, where he didn't need to think about any worries in the world. Small smile found its way on his lips as he too closed his eyes and relaxed, enjoying the moment.
