When History Repeats Itself

Justin was a mess. He couldn't stop thinking about what went wrong. He had promised himself that he would never be like his father. He would never give up magic for love. He always just assumed that he would find a wizard to marry, later on, far in the future after he got his PHD in everything. He just didn't count on one thing. He didn't account for falling in love with a mortal. But let me take you back to the day that the Wizard Test was administered to the three Russo kids…

"I am so going to win this competition. And you know why Justin?"

"Why is that Alex?"

"Because I'm not careless like Max." Alex laughed at her own terrible joke.

The one thing that Alex wasn't prepared for was the written test potion. It was as if this was prepared to just pass Justin. As predicted ten minutes later Justin finished. Alex knew she had to hurray through the test at that moment. She had to beat Max so that she could move on. Finally the test was over. She stood up.

"Oh yeah, in your face, I have got the goods. I finished a test." She smiled. Her father shook his head in disgust.

The practical potion went a lot better for Alex. But what she didn't realize was the fact that Justin had learned a whole lot more than her. Justin was declared the winner of the Wizard contest. Just then they were all transported back to the Wizard lair. The Wizard in charge took out Max and Alex's power containers. It was a bittersweet moment for the entire family. Uncle Kelbo even came down. He was still a mess.

"Sir, Mr. Wizard guy…I want to know if the rule still states that you can't marry a non wizard?"

"Yes, Justin are you planning to marry a non wizard?"

"Her name is Harper Finkle. We've been dating for six months and I can't believe that I'm saying this but…I love her. And I want to give my powers to my brother Max in order to marry Harper." Justin took his power container and put it into Max's slot. He suddenly felt all the magic drain from his body. He looked at his father for reassurance. His father gave him a quick smile.

"So be it."

"Justin if something happens and you want your powers back, all you have to do is ask." Max said excited.

"Harper is much better than any magic. I can now see why you gave your powers up for mom all those years ago dad."

"Well, I can't. And I can't believe you gave your powers to Max instead of me! And after you say how Aunt Megan ended up! Geez you are so selfish Justin."

"Oh, I'm selfish Alex."

"Yeah, and do you know what I am going to move somewhere pretty that you won't know about. Uncle Kelbo can you help me pack please?"

"Sure thing Alex." Uncle Kelbo took Alex upstairs to her room to pack her stuff. Her mother was crying that this was tearing apart her family. Her father was shaking his head.

"This is just what happens when history repeats itself. Good day Russo's." The Wizard Judge took off.
