A/N: Hey Fanfic Readers! This is my first Fanfic, which I would like to dedicate to my fanta-boul-istic, one-of-a-kind, friend Ashley, who is the 'Caitlyn' of this story. And who's 'Nate' may be kept a secret…for now…
Peace, Love, and Street Tacos!

Nate Black sat on the dock next to his best friend ever since
Final Jam, Caitlyn Gellar.
Technically, it was best friend for her and never-will-be-love for him.
I know your probably thinking, "If they're best friends, doesn't that
automatically make them belong with each other?"
Well, I would like to introduce you to a non-cookie cutter, not-a-
movie version of it.
It's called Life.
And if life for Nate meant loving Caitlyn, even though she was
completely oblivious to it, then he wants a refund.
All went well until a while ago. When Caitlyn met a guy named Barron.
Caitlyn fell for him the minute she locked eyes with him. Nate
personally didn't know why. Barron didn't understand her vast and
unique knowledge about producing a song. He couldn't play 'Viva La
Vida' on the guitar so much she'd scream, but love it anyway. He
couldn't even accept Caitlyn's hugs as much as she liked to give them.
He just wasn't Nate.
Caitlyn sighed next to him.
"What?" Nate asked, frowning. He followed her gaze to the bane of his
existence. Barron. "Ah, of course."
"I'm sorry you have to hear this again, but I've made it a bit obvious I
like him. Can someone actually be that oblivious?" Caitlyn told,
finally making eye contact.
Nate had to hold in a laugh. "You tell me. Now Cait," he was the only
person who could get away with calling her that, "I have a real
question for you."
Caitlyn looked at him. They were sitting on a dock on barely outside
Camp Rock grounds, just after lunch. Was now really the time to get
into serious questions? She went along with it anyway. Nate was her
friend, and he deserved that much. "Okay."
"What's it like to be in love?" Nate asked. He knew what the answer
was, but he wanted to know what Caitlyn thought of it.
That was definitely not a Nate-like question, Caitlyn thought. Usually
his questions had easy answers that had something to do with music or
being an "individual". But this time she had a hard time answering,
"Umm, you know that feeling you get when you ace a test you studied
for like weeks for?"
"Not really." Nate joked. If this was Caitlyn's interpretation of
'love', maybe what she felt for Barron wasn't real.
Nate's joke made her smile. "Or when you've had just about the worst
day ever of your life and then you hear your favorite song, which
makes everything better?" Caitlyn offered.
"Yeah. I know that one." Nate replied.
Caitlyn continued. "Yeah. Like that, only a 100 times better. You?"
"I think being in love is like eating a jar full of Skittles." Nate
stared ahead, completely serious.
Caitlyn looked at him as if he were insane. "Skittles?"
"Yeah. You can't have Skittles only once then get over it. You keep
coming back for the 'rainbow'. You eat so much, and you're all hyper
and you feel fearless and happy for once. But then you come down from
the sugar high, and you have a headache, and it hurts. But no matter
what, you keep coming back. Even thought you know it's going to hurt. You
do it anyway, just because I love you...I mean Skittles." Nate
corrected himself.
"Wow." Caitlyn was in shock. That was nothing she'd ever felt before.
"Have you felt like that with a girl before?"
Nate whispered, sounding distant. "It's you.".
"What?" Caitlyn asked.
"Nothing." Nothing. All he and Cait would ever be.
