Hiii everyone! This fic is my second Gundam fanfiction. I am from Hungary so sorry for the grammar and spelling errors. Anyway this story takes place after GSD. The main characters are Kira and Lacus. Please let me know what you think!
Chapter 1
"I can't believe I wasn't here for a year now." Athrun muttered for the fifth times.
"The children missed you so much! I came here at least once a month and you didn't even come once since the war ended!" Cagalli said obviously disappointed with the blue haired guy beside her.
They were heading toward the beach house where Lacus and Kira lived for a year since the second bloody Valentine war ended.
"I know. I was so busy lately. Last I saw Kira and Lacus was on their wedding." Athrun murmured. Cagalli didn't answer.
"I was just wondering... Do you know why they got married so suddenly? One month after the war? It was kind of sudden."
"It wasn't sudden at all. I am still mad at Kira! He should have known better and married Lacus sooner!" Cagalli said
"I don't get it Cagalli." Athrun looked confused at her.
"You will find out soon enough." murmured Cagalli.
"Oh finally!" she said excitedly when the beach house came in sight.
Athrun smiled when the blond girl jumped out the car and run to the door. He was excited too.
The door burst open before Cagalli could open it. At least 10 children run to them most of them jumping on Athrun.
"I told you they missed you." Cagalli laughed.
"Athrun you will play tag with us right?"
"Come to the beach with us and build a sand castle!"
Athrun could only laugh hearing the excited children. They were jumping around them while they walked in the house.
"Cagalli, nice to see you again! Athrun long time not seen." smiled the old Reverend. Caridad stood beside him.
"Children let's go back to your studies now." He said. Once the children left with him, Caridad turned to Cagalli again.
"Lacus is in the kitchen." The woman smiled.
"Thank you. It is nice to see you ." Cagalli smiled and stepped in the kitchen Athrun following her closely.
Lacus stood with her back toward them humming quietly.
"Lacus!" Cagalli said and ran to hug her friend.
"Cagalli." A surprised Lacus said.
"Athrun what a nice surprise." She turned to Athrun smiling.
"Yeah, sorry I couldn't come earlier." Athrun hugged Lacus briefly.
"Kira is sitting outside I am sure he will be happy to see you again."
"Thanks." Athrun smiled back and stepped out the room.
"I am making a tea would you like some?" Lacus asked Cagalli.
"Sure. Let the boys talk a bit." Cagalli smiled back.

Stepping on the balcony Athrun noticed his best friend sitting on a chair. He was reading a book, Torii sat on his head. He frowned. Something was odd in his friends pose.
Stepping closer Athrun's jaw dropped. There was a small, a few months old child sitting on his arms.
Suddenly the other boy's body tensed, feeling the present of someone else and he turned toward him.
"Athrun!" Kira said surprised.
"Kira." Athrun said still staring at the little boy on his friend's arm. There could be no mistake, he could only be Kira's son. He was still a baby but the remembrance was unmistakable.
"His name is Saito." Kira said after a while.
Athrun looked at his friend his eyes was still wide with surprise.
"I certainly missed a lot of thing." He murmured finally and sat down beside his friend.
"How are you?" Kira asked with a small smile.
Saito was looking at the strange man curiously.
"Fine. Lot of work." Athrun sighed. The girls choose the moment to walk out the house.
"Here we made some tea." Lacus smiled offering a cup to Athrun and took her place beside Kira.
Cagalli took Saito from Kira's arms and began to tickle the small baby.
Saito laughed loudly making the others smile lovingly at him.
"Want to hold him?" Cagalli asked suddenly and not waiting for the answer, she gave the baby to Athrun.
"I am... I am not so good with babies." he muttered and held the baby very carefully. He was so small, he feared he would hurt him somehow.
Saito seemed to enjoy this situation. He giggled and grabbed Athrun's hair. The blue haired boy glanced at the baby surprised then untangled the little boy's finger from his hair gently.
"He is strong." Athrun smiled.
"He is." Kira smiled. Athrun noticed how proud his friend's voice sounded.
"How old is he?" he asked.
"Almost 6 months old." Lacus answered.
Athrun raised an eyebrow.
Kira glanced at Lacus. The girl smiled and stood up. Athrun couldn't help but feel that they communicated without words again.
"I will take a walk with Saito on the beach. Care to join me Cagalli?" Lacus asked while taking Saito in her arms gently.
Cagalli nodded silently and they left the boys alone.
"That is why you got married so soon after the war right?" Athrun asked his best friend.
"She was 4 months pregnant then." Kira answered.
"But... How?" Athrun had so many questions he didn't know which one to ask first.
"I hope I don't have to explain how." Kira laughed nervously.
"Ah... No-no. It just surprised me. I never thought she was pregnant during the war. I thought you wouldn't allow her to take a part in the battle knowing he was pregnant!" Athrun couldn't help but feel angry with his friend.
"I couldn't do much about it! We found out when we already were in the middle of the war! And Durandal was after her as well. What could I do? Left her here without any protection? There wasn't a right part to choose!" Kira answered equal so angry. He could never forget the dilemma he had at that time. They were already on Archangel. He was so happy when Lacus told him, but he was scared too. And right after that Lacus decided to go and look what was going on the PLANTS on her own.
Athrun thought about it and he sighed.
"It must have been hard for you." He said understanding his friend's position at that time.
"Yes." Kira said finally.
"He is only 6 months old but he looks like you already." Athrun smiled after a while.
"Yeah." Kira smiled back glancing toward the beach where Lacus and Cagalli played with Saito.
"However his eyes are like Lacus'" Kira's smile got wider. The same eyes having the same effect on him. He couldn't say no to either of them.
"I just don't want to imagine what he will be like when he grows up. A boy with your strength and abilities and with Lacus charm." Athrun laughed then he went quiet. Kira had a strange look in his eyes.
"He is a Coordinator seeing both you and Lacus are Coordinators, but is he...?" Athrun knew he didn't have to finish his question.
"We don't know yet. He is too young." Kira answered quietly.
"I was a bit hurt first, that you didn't tell me you had a son but now I understand why it is a secret." Athrun said slowly.
"I heard there was a group hiding somewhere in the space waiting to make the destiny plan comes true. If they find out about him..." Kira didn't finish his sentence.
"Don't think about this right now. We will find them. Just be happy for your family. I am kind of jealous you know. Having a son..." Athrun said smiling.
Kira smiled at his friend.
"Talk with Cagalli about it. But make sure you marry her first." Kira said wincing.
Athrun raised an eyebrow questioningly.
"She almost killed me when she found out that Lacus was already pregnant when we married." Kira sighed. How did he became the bad man while Lacus was poor and innocent as always, was beyond him. It takes two to tango doesn't it? And Lacus understood why they had to wait with the wedding.
"But Lacus wasn't angry because of it was she?" Athrun asked however he knew the answer already.
"You know her." Kira smiled warmly and glanced toward the beach again. Athrun couldn't help the smile forming on his lips. Kira and Lacus never showed their affection with kissing each other every two minutes, but the way they looked at each other or how they hugged each other told everything.
"Are you done with your chatting?" Cagalli asked when the girls got back to them.
"We are." Kira smiled standing up.
Lacus smiled back at him. Saito was sound asleep in her arms.
"Falling asleep before dinner?" Kira asked raising an eyebrow.
"Playing with your sister has its affect." Lacus said.
"Hey! He enjoyed it!" Cagalli protested.
"Sure he did." Kira answered shaking his head grinning.
"Talking about dinner, Cagalli could you help me a bit with it? The children will be finished with their studies soon." Lacus said.
Athrun winced. Worse than the hyperactive children were the hyperactive AND hungry children.
"Sure." Cagalli answered. Lacus put Saito in Kira's arm without a world and the two girls walked in the house.
Athrun watched his best friend closely. Saito only opened his eyes for a few seconds, not liking the idea of leaving his mother's arm. However, when he noticed it was his father, who was holding him now, he closed his eyes again. Feeling the warm and safety in his strong arms, he fell back asleep.
"You know, I never imagine you to be a daddy, but you are doing it well." Athrun said.
"Thanks I guess." Kira answered. "I know you will be a good dad too."
"Ah I am terrible with babies. I just won't hold it right and..."
Kira shook his head smiling.
"What is with that look?" Athrun asked slightly embarrassed.
"I was the same Athrun." Kira chuckled.
Flashback
Kira stood in the room with wide eyes. Lacus hummed a song to Saito who was watching his mother without blinking. The baby was only 2 weeks old and Kira still couldn't believe he had a son. He watched the baby with awe. He had a new respect for Lacus, she was holding the baby gently but surely. He on the other hand didn't dare to hold him.
"Kira, could you please hold Saito for a moment. I really need to go I promised Caridad that I will help her with lunch and Saito doesn't want to sleep."
Kira looked at her like she was asking him to fight a Gundam without any weapon... no wait let's make it two Gundams.
"Mmmm I..." He began hesitantly.
"What is the matter Kira?" Lacus asked him smiling.
"I... I don't think I can Lacus. He is... too small, what if I hold him too strongly and hurt him somehow? Or I won't hold him strong enough and he fells?"
While Kira was busy with his worry, he didn't notice Lacus, who smiled gently at him and walked to him.
The next thing he knew was Lacus placed the baby in his arms. "You will be just fine." She said and walked out the door.
Kira stood in the middle of the room with wide eyes. He didn't dare to move he didn't dare to turn around, heck he didn't even dare to breathe.
A giggle from the baby interrupted his shock. Glancing at the little boy Kira frowned.
"You enjoy this don't you?" He asked mock angry.
Saito laughed as if saying yes.
Kira smiled lovingly at his son and he took a few steps toward the bed carefully.
Sitting upon it he watched his son and smiled. The same kind blue eyes that Lacus had... Kira caressed his face gently, and Saito grabbed his finger not letting it go till he fell asleep.
End of flashback
"He is well behaved." Athrun said after some time.
"Most of the times." Kira answered when Cagalli cried out from the house.
"Dinner is ready!"
Saito woke up once they went to the kitchen. The orphans were laughing and running around till they had to go wash their hands and sat down to eat.
They were almost finished with dinner when Saito made a noise and kicked once with his feet.
He was sitting in Cagalli's lap and the girl looked at him confused.
"There there Saito. Be a good baby." she said.
However Saito didn't calm down and made a louder noise kicking again.
"What is wrong with him?" Cagalli looked at Athrun but the boy looked even more confused than she.
Kira looked at them then glanced at the clock.
"Oh. Dinner time." He said standing up to take Saito in his arms.
"Oh! Can I feed him?" Cagalli asked excitedly.
"Mmmm... It's... he is... still a baby..." Kira said embarrassed.
Cagalli watched her brother confused. Why was he flushing?
"I will be careful just tell me what to give him?"
"Cagalli.. you can't... it is..." Kira tried again when Lacus stepped in the room again with the cake she just made for the kids.
"What? Why?" Cagalli looked hurt. His brother didn't trust him with his son.
Saito began to get impatient and kicked again crying out.
"Oh dinner time." Lacus smiled and stepped to them too.
"Lacus! I just asked Kira if I could feed him." Cagalli turned to the pink haired girl.
Lacus giggled seeing Kira's red face.
"You can't Cagalli..." Kira began again.
"I am still breast feeding him." Lacus explained shortly.
"Oh! You should have told me!" Cagalli said giving the baby to Lacus and glaring at her brother.
"I tried..."
Lacus couldn't help but laugh. Kira's and Athrun's face were tomato red. They were cute being embarrassed about something that was perfectly natural for girls.
"Coffee is in the kitchen if you want some, I will be back shortly." She smiled and went in the bedroom with Saito in her arms.
They sat in silence for a while when Cagalli burst out laughing.
"You guys are so strange! I am sure you guys can talk about sex without a blink but mentioning breast feeding and you got all shy and embarrassed."
"It is something intimate Cagalli." Athrun murmured. "Something only Lacus and Kira should know and talk about."
"Come on Athrun. It isn't such a big secret. Sure Kira doesn't want any other guy seeing it but I am a girl and family I am sure he wouldn't mind, right Kira?" Cagalli said.
"Um..." Kira said uncomfortable how to tell no to his sister when Caridad saved the day.
"Kira, I am sorry to interrupt but someone with the name Andrew is on the phone." The woman said.
Kira frowned and walked to the living room Athrun and Cagalli close behind.
"Mr. Waltfeld?" Kira asked.
"Kira! Hi! Good to hear your voice." The other man said.
"Yeah..." Kira said shortly. He couldn't help the feeling in his guts. Something was wrong.
"We just caught a secret message from the space... It seems the New Destiny Troops have some plan..."
"What kind of plan?" Kira asked his body tensing with every moment.
"Somehow they found out where you are staying... They said something about capturing Lacus... Also they talked about some kind of secret attack."
Kira thought his heart froze.
"Lacus?"
"I would advise you-"
"Can you contact the Archangel? If they know where we are we have to leave." Kira interrupted.
Cagalli and Athrun looked at each other worriedly.
"I know you would say that kiddo. Ms Murrue is on her way to the dock. The Archangel will be waiting for you tomorrow."
"Thank you." Kira said and hung up the phone.
"Kira?" Athrun asked.
"They are active again. They planned some kind of secret attack and they are planning something again Lacus too. We will leave tomorrow." Kira said a deep frown on his forehead.
