A/N-Welcome to my little one-shot which is a snippet from one of my stories Returned (ch.7,last paragraph), you don't really need to read the story to know it but it wouldn't hurt...
Would this be one-sided Perlia, because it's only Thalia...
Anyway...let's just pretend that Thalia took a pause before joining the hunt, kay?

Thalia Pov-
"Thalia," Artemis said. "Daughter of Zeus. Will you join the Hunt?"
My heart accelerated at various speeds, blood pounding through my head.
I squeezed my eyes shut as my breath cut off.
Silence filled the room and I knew I had to make a decision.
I looked down, dreading to make a choice.
Just do it, one part of me says.
No! The other part protested. You might still have a chance
On the inside, I laughed hysterically.
A chance?
A chance of friendship, if anything.
That's all he wanted, a friend.
I didn't want that, I needed him as more than a friend.
So I pushed him away, acting like I hated him.
Just being what he wanted- a friend.
So I did, but often I would slip up and tell him something about myself.
About my past. Something I have never told anyone, not even Luke.
He listened, his sea-green eyes comforting, like the waves.
The mop of messy black hair would shake as he nodded.
His lopsided grin would make everything brighter.
Just the perfect one.
But I wasn't the one for him, so as I looked up, I glanced at him from the corner.
His eyebrows scrunched up just staring Annabeth, as if something bad was going to happen to her.
The pain of rejection hit me like a needle, piercing through my inner soul.
It burned, inexplicably painful beyond measure.
There was nothing more that I wanted to to do than cram myself back in my pine tree, being whole; never experiencing pain like this.
But I had no chance.
No chance at all with Percy Jackson.
A/N-I think we know what happened next...
