Summary: What happened the night Christine came to the Phantom?
The Phantom was composing, but no matter how hard he tried, no music would come. Ever since Christine left, the music inside of him had died and she had taken every ounce of it. He loved her. He loved her with all of his heart and he would have gone anywhere or done anything for her.
For his safety, Meg Giry and Madame Giry told everyone that in the heartbreak of losing Christine, the Phantom had passed on. Part of which was true. A part of him died when she left.
The Phantom tossed the ruined sheet of music and rubbed his temples. Suddenly, he heard a sound and he turned to see a very pale Christine. What was she doing here? She looked terrible. "Christine?"
Christine threw herself onto the Phantom and she was sobbing hysterically. She was a mess. The Phantom stroked her hair until she would calm down. "What's wrong?"
Christine looked at the Phantom and whispered, "He's drunk."
The Phantom touched Christine's face and looked into her eyes. She was full of terror. "It's okay, you're safe here. He doesn't know you are here?"
"No."
A few moments of silence went by. "I don't love him."
The Phantom was shocked and surprised, but also a part of him was happy. That man was a fool and he didn't deserve Christine. "We were going to be married tomorrow. I have cold feet and I don't love him."
The Phantom couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Christine, what are you doing here?" the Phantom asked with force.
"I made a mistake. I don't love him. I love you. Raoul knows this and he goes out to drink every night. He's trying to hide his pain and I hate him when he's drunk. He's not the same man that I loved."
"So now you come crying back to me?" the Phantom sneered.
Christine sobbed and the Phantom realized that he was being rude to her. She obviously in pain and she needed someone. The Phantom and Christine said at the same time, "I'm sorry."
Christine walked over to the Phantom's organ and saw scattered music. She pulled one of the sheets up and she looked at it. "What's this?" she whispered.
"Music."
Christine looked it over and then set it down. She looked around the Phantom's lair and she closed her eyes. Memories flooded her mind of the night that happened. The Phantom came right behind her and he wrapped his arms around her. Christine reached behind her and lovingly stroke his face. He held her like that one night he told her about how music inspired him.
Christine turned to face the Phantom and he looked down at her. He was wearing his mask and she slowly reached to take it off. The Phantom flinched, afraid that she was going to scream, but this time she did not. She lovingly touched his face and whispered, "I still love you."
She pushed herself forward and gave the Phantom a sweet kiss. Tears spilt as she kissed him and she slowly pulled away. The Phantom was in shock as she gazed at him. He pulled her back up to him and he kissed her. "I still love you too."
The Phantom held Christine and took her to his bed. She was placed down gently and she pulled him down to her level to give him another kiss. "Christine, are you sure about this?"
"I am."
