Making My Own Memories

by: Awkward Seductress

Renesmee Cullen

I held the small, delicacy in the cup of my hands, the wind blowing gently as the flowers danced around me with the moving air. My skin glowed faintly, a mysterious alabaster shade that was shame itself next to my family's sparkling granite-like skin.

Today was a simple day; the sun was out and shining, which was a miracle in the small town of Forks, Washington. A light breeze was blowing, and all the blue-violet flowers swayed to the beat of their own song.

Bronze curls blew forward, blocking the right and left sides of my peripheral vision, and my bangs hung just above my eyebrows. I smiled softly at the flower I picked up, and I raised my arm, lifting my head as I did, and I grinned as I let go of the flower. It flew in the wind, and landed a few feet in front of me.

My parents' meadow was a beautiful place. A lot of things has happened here; when my father showed my mother his sparkling skin, my Jacob and the other wolves saving my mother from another vampire, my father asking her over and over to marry her, and my father slipping the engagement ring onto my mother's ring finger.

And, now, I was making my own memories here.

My arm fell into my lap, and my fingers weaved together automatically as I started to hum the lullaby Daddy composed for me.

"Nessie," I heard a familiar voice call.

I looked up from my fingers in my lap to see Daddy leaning against a tree in a white collared shirt and a pair of loose jeans along with Momma, who was standing and holding Daddy's hand.

"Momma, Daddy," I exclaimed as I stood up and dashed towards them, hugging them close to me. Ice met fire, vampire met dhampir, parents met offspring. How was your hunting? I sent them.

"Your father took my mountain lion," Momma teased, glaring at Daddy.

"Well, your mother took my grizzly bear." Daddy glared at Momma.

I rolled my eyes and grinned. "Well, at least you two got something."

Daddy stopped glaring and smiled warmly at me. "That's right."

I beamed.

"Are you ready to head back to the main house?" Momma asked, a shy smile on her cherry-stained lips.

I rested a hand on her shoulder, sending her, Could I stay longer by myself?

"Of course," Momma and Daddy said at the same time. A smile was passed between the couple, and I gave them another hug each before walking back to the middle of the meadow just as they left.

"Nessie?" I heard a husky voice call a few minutes later from behind me. I stood still, and felt lukewarm arms wrap around my waist.

"Jacob," I giggled, and turned around and kissed the shape shifter on his lips.

I'm making my own memories here.
