Sister

Snow fell on the dirty Gotham streets where it was rapidly turned to slush. Christmas shoppers bustled past each other, trading gossip about the Penguin and the recall of the mayor when they stopped long enough. Inside the warmth of The Old Belgrade Bruce Wayne sat across from Selina Kyle.
"It's the so-called "normal" guys who always let you down. Sickos never scare me. Least they're committed," she told him.
"You've got kind of a- dark side, haven't you?" Bruce asked.
"No darker than yours, Bruce."
The waiter appeared with their drinks.
"Hvala," Bruce told him.
The waiter smiled and disappeared.
"You speak… what language is that?" Selina asked, fiddling with the bandages on her arm.
"Serbian. No, I just know a few things like 'thank you' and a few insults that I picked up when I… studied abroad."
"Is that why you picked this place?"
The millionaire removed his glasses and looked at the interior of the restaurant. "No. I think this is the first time I've ever been here. It looked warm."
Across the room a woman with sleek dark hair and strong black eyebrows was watching Selina. Her bright green eyes lit up. She set down her drink and walked over to the table where the couple was seated.
She looked at Selina. "Moya sestra?"
Selina looked at her blankly. Bruce stared at the intruder sharply, his blue eyes turning icy, and the woman left, looking rather downcast.
"What did she say?" Selina asked. When Bruce said nothing and continued to look puzzled she repeated the question. "What did she say, Bruce? It was only two words."
"She greeted you… she called you 'sister.'" He leaned to the left to look at the stranger, now disappearing into the crowd outdoors. "Strange… she looks kind of like a cat."
