A/n sorry but this goes with chapter seven of the end if you don't read that first you won't get this exactly you can still enjoy it but it won't make much sense. any way this is what Jonathan was doing while kim and Jack were in the garage looking for keys.

Jonathans POV
I had to get the vile it was my only back up plan for this. It had to be in the lab they were putting it in deep freeze for safety. I ran through the halls of the compound at a breakneck speed. Right it right I said making a u turn after I passed the turn to the stairs elevators wouldn't be safe, but the lower levels would be filled with Akumu such a silly name the only reason we named then at all was to make them easier to kill for the weak. I had lost so many already, and I can't join them… not yet anyway. I made my way to the top of stairs. I looked down the 2 foot gap between each flight the lab was at the bottom this was going to take to long I had to risk it. I vaulted the gap and fell to the next level and grabbed the railing. "First one down eighteen left to go" I said to myself and dropped to the next.
I had descended my way to the bottom floor my arms now sore from the shock they had just gone through to get to were I did so quickly. I took my tactical riffle from my back and loaded it. I put my hand on the door and brought my hand up to the two wedding rings around my neck I had to do this for my family "Welcome to hell Jonathan welcome to hell." I pushed the door opening and started to slowly tear my way through the infected people. "God forgive me." I whispered.
I had made it to the lab. Now where was the vial I looked around and saw the deep freeze container with a hand print scanner beside it. I when through the process and withdrew the vial I looked at it this could be it the cure for the world, but I need to get it to a base as well as get Jack and Kim away from this I promised the Major. I felt something breath behind me and felt a had come across my mouth a creature had got to me. Don't panic Jonathan this has happened before I held my mouth and shut my eyes I could feel the liquid dripping down my body. But I couldn't last I had to breath. I started to thrash around and I felt it squeeze the liquid between my lips. I then got a hand on my pistol and put it to its body and shot. The hand released I looked down at my hands silver in my veins building up my arms. I closed my eyes and pleaded with myself to calm down. I held my breath and exhaled slowly I felt liquid dripping its way from my pores. I opened my eyes and looked down at my vein's they were blue completely human. I got up and stared at the creature it was a woman she looked like my mother all though years ago, but that was not possible. I couldn't help myself my mind flooded with memories and yelled at the body "This is what you get for attacking me. I am not like the others I was tested on and prodded and I am rewarded by this having to be resistant to a virus that could take me to you to ever one I loved." I started to tear up "I am sorry, but I had to kill him I am sorry I had to kill dad." I fell to my knees and then looked down. "And now I can't join him and you because I was made into a cure I have to stay alive and I can't tell anyone or else they will die trying to save me." I wiped away tears and got up. "I have to be alone and deliver this vile that's were I am going right after I get the Major's son and his girlfriend on their way. They have no need to die for me." I walked out of the room "goodbye Mom." I said to the dead body and I ran back as fast as I could to the garage. To fulfill my promise and go my separate way.
