I was just thinking that Nasuada and Murtagh would make a terrible couple. Eragon and Nasuada have more in common, and Murtagh has too many bad memories for her. Perhaps once... but after her little vision in the Hall of the Soothsayer, I think its clear if they were together she'd be forever doubting herself, and that would just be painful for all involved. Eragon, who is clearly on the wrong trail here, has little to no hope with Arya. Even if everything worked out perfectly I can't see it. I fully expect people to flame me quite intensely for this blasphemy, and in fact i wrote this specifically to receive some angry reviews! XP

Well, I'm obviously not CP, and a good thing too. Love him and his work though I do, Inheritance left a lot to be desired. I hope he doesn't abandon Alagaesia just yet! I don't own any of this, other wise I'd have a lot more money. XP

The sun was setting peacefully over the capital, the clouds painted a gentle pink against the orange sky. Along the horizon a red blot ruined the perfection of the sky's imagery. A dragon was circling over the citadel, a rider lounging peacefully on its back. The word "peaceful" is not often applicable to this rider, in fact mere moments ago it would not have applied at all. Now he was completely at ease and was enjoying the sunset with his partner.

The rider's name? Why, you'd have to be living under a rock to not have heard it! He was the scourge of the empire, the red rider, the traitor,... well, you get the point. His name was Murtagh. Murtagh Morzansson. (Be sure to never call him that if the chance greets you. He's not fond of his name)

Murtagh stretched out happily, not bothering to break the calm silence currently standing between the two. The pair had spent every second of the past years fearing this retched place and the feeling had not completely abandoned either of them. Still, missing the view would be a shame, and more importantly they had a mission. They had promised to see her one last time before they left, and they could not break their word. Not to her.

The dragon circled until the sun had completely set, then began the descent the pair has been dreading.
