Christy looked back at Neil who was walking with Tom Allen in the woods. She
gripped David's neck tighter as she felt her strength return slowly from her bout
of the fever that had struck her the nite before in the hunting cabin that Neil
lead her to in the "Greenhorn (?) cove". She saw the interesting of his love shining
in his eyes as he stared unwaving back at her. *What do I do? What do I say? I
heard his prayer last nite but this morning when I said 'Neil' trying to let him know
that I heard and understood he said 'you best get dressed we need to get you back
to the Mission.' He felt her forehead and looked so lovely down at her and than
left the cabin. She felt such love coarse through her body as she watched him
slightly.* She wanted to say more but God said 'not now child' quietly in her heart.
But when she heard David call out 'Christy' and she opened her eyes and watched
David run toward her and Neil she felt love for David coarse through her heart
also and than she was back to being so confused between the two men.
*One the doctor who repeating saves my life and two the minster who I promised
to marry.* Christy closed her eyes for an moment to try to decided whom she
wanted but she still felt Neil's eyes on hers so she opened them again and let him
know what anguish she was experiencing through her eyes.
*She and the Reverend will be happy together.* Neil thought sadly in his heart as
he watched David carry Christy down the mountain. *God I promised you that I
would give you back my love for Christy. And so I have.*
Suddenly David stumbled. Neil rushed over and grabbed Christy. "I have her." He
still felt the love that God placed in his heart for Christy run through his body.
*God why don't you want this love. It's all I have to give to you. She made her
choice and it's not me. Please take this love and use it any way you see fit.* Neil
prayed to his Heavenly Father.
"No I have her!" David said stubbornly tighten the hold on Christy. But even now
with her firmly in his arms he felt himself losing her.
*Neil!* Christy heart sang with joy of Neil's hand on her body. She felt the lose of
it while she was in David's arms only. She felt peace at having Neil only an inch
away. She felt herself being drawn foward when she suddenly felt his check on her
lips. She closed her eyes as she kissed Neil's check than all went black.
"Christy!" David yelled as he felt slack in Christy's body. "God no don't take her
please not yet. It isn't time. We Need this time for us to be happy and to be
married." He cried up to the Heaven. *I can't allow Neil McNeill to win Christy. I
have to save her I have to make her mine.*
" Let her go David !" Neil said forcefully David's arms away from Christy's body as he grabbed tight hold of Christy. "It's all right Christy we will get you back to the mission. Just rest now." He said softly in Christy's ear as he began the long walk back to the mission.
Christy didn't feel afraid of the darkness that she found herself to be in. She felt peace as her true love held her in his arms. She felt comfortable as her heart finally made it's choice. She wanted to wake up and say that she truly loved him but for someone reason she was trapped in this darkness which didn't frighten her one bit.
