Grief overcame most of the magical world. Their last hope was gone. They remembered raising their glasses in joy all those years ago and whispering, "To the boy who lived." Now it was the Death Eater's turn. They raised their glasses and whispered, "To the boy who died."
Amazing, as it was, Harry Potter, their last hope at defeating You-Know-Who was dead. Harry and You-Know-Who had many battles, but their last one was the biggest and noblest one of all. They knew it would happen one day. Harry had made it known when he graduated Hogwarts that one day he would either kill You-Know Who, or You-Know-Who would kill him. Everyone was shocked by this news. Eventually, they all though Harry would come out on top and rid the world of You-Know-Who once and for all. They always pictured themselves rejoicing with Harry. Now they were mourning without him.
It was a marvelous fight, anyone could tell. You never could know who was winning. You-Know-Who kept a calm face and a steady hand. Harry was sweating and looked weak. Yet Harry hit You-Know-Who with harder spells and hurt him more. He even blocked Avada Kedavra with the spell his best friend Hermione came up with. Eventually, you-Know-Who said, "Harry Potter, my biggest foe. I will admit this has been a challenging fight. Too bad it will end soon. I will keep the memories forever. You, however, will not be so fortunate. AVADA KEDAVRA!" Harry was taken by surprise and killed. The Death Eaters watching cheered and many sent The Dark Mark up in the air.
"No! No, you bastard! Die! Die, die, die!" Hermione shouted You-Know-Who. Everyone was sure she would die right there. He killed people for not agreeing with him; surely he would kill his biggest foe's best friend for calling him a bastard.
Instead, you-Know-Who smiled. "Silly girl. A bastard, am I? I should die, then?"
"Yes! Die a long, painful death. All of your Death Eaters can die, too. Die!" Hermione shouted.
"Hermione, be quiet! He will kill you! He killed my family, and he killed Harry. I can't stand another lost." Ron said pulling Hermione back from You-Know Who.
"Stop trying to protect your mudblood friend, or maybe I'll kill you. If you were with your family that night I killed them, you would be dead too." You-Know-Who snarled.
"Don't kill Ron, kill yourself." Hermione shouted. "Or at least be generous enough to let me kill you. Just die!"
I could easily kill you, and you know that." You-Know-Who said smirking. "Or I could get one of my followers to kill you. I'm sure Mr. Malfoy would love to kill his wife. But no. No, I don't think I'll kill you. Nor will I allow anyone else to kill you. It will be more painful to you if you live without Harry than if you do not live at all." And with that, You-Know-Who Dissaparated and all of his Death Eaters followed suit. Hermione stared at where You-Know-Who was standing. Then she burst out crying and fell to the floor. She knew then, as we all knew, You-Know-Who would reign forever.
