A/N: Sappy sappy sap!!! YAY! This is a PURE FLUFF fic about Will and Lyra!
I'm in kind of a crazy mood right now, so ignore this note because it's
crazy!
Disclaimer: I wish I owned them... I also don't own the base of the poem. It's from the movie My Girl. I don't know who wrote it. I certainly didn't. (poo) But I did change a lot of the words. And I do not own The Glory Of Love. It's a song that was in a show I did recently and it seemed appropriate,
Dedication: For my girlfriend Liz.
Weeping Willow By Tinkerbelle
"It won't be long now, Pan." Lyra sighed. She stretched out on the grass of the Botanic Garden, underneath the weeping willow. Pan lay in the crook of her arm, purring, in his cat-form.
Lyra stared at the sky. She felt as if she had never been so happy in her life. Will would be here soon, and they would hold hands and kiss and just be, truly in love.
"Lyra!" she heard her name. She sat up quickly and saw Will, running towards her. She scrambled up and ran, eyes tightly closed, into his arms. The force of it knocked him onto his back, and he laughed, and kissed the top of her head.
"I love you, Will, I love you." she said passionately.
"I love you too, Lyra. You mean the world to me and you'll always be mine." he whispered.
An old couple were sitting on one of the benches nearby, giving the two strange looks every now and then, and whispering rudely. But Will and Lyra were far too happy to care. It had only been five minutes, five minutes of their precious hour together. Kirjava and Pantalaimon were similarly entwined on the grass beside them, whispering true love to each other, in the shade of the weeping willow.
Lyra snuggled up to Will and laid her head on his chest, his arms tight around her, and she began to sing.
"The night is very clear, and we're both lying here. There's so many thing I want to say. I will always love you, I could never leave you alone..."
Will sang also,
"I am a man who will fight for your honour, I'll be the hero that you're dreaming of..."
They both sang in a beautiful harmony,
"We'll live forever, knowing together that we did it all for the glory of love." And Lyra cried. She cried into Will's chest and he stroked her hair, and kissed her neck, and whispered, "I love you, I love you," and they stayed clasped tightly together, so tightly that they found it hard to breathe.
And when the time came for Lyra to leave, she gave him an envelope, and with a gentle kiss, and an "I love you forever Will," she left, disappearing in an instant, away from the weeping willow tree.
Will cried too then. Effortless tears ran down his face and dripped into Kirjava's fur.
"Read it." Kirjava whispered, looking down at the envelope and nudging him.
He opened the crisp white envelope, and took out the paper. It smelt faintly of Lyra, and as he sniffed it, he caught some words. 'Tree', 'heart', and 'love'.
This is what Will read:
"Weeping Willow with your tears falling down,
Why do you always weep and frown?
Is it because we left you today?
Is it because we could not stay?
On your branches, we used to climb and swing,
Do you long for the happiness we would bring?
We found shelter in your shade,
I thought his laughter would never fade,
Weeping Willow,
Stop your tears,
There is something to calm your fears,
You think this as if we forever part,
But I know he'll always be in my heart."
And Will and Kirjava were comforted, and they hugged eachother tightly and left the garden, truly happy.
Like it? It was probably a load of poo, but I like it, I like fluff. Please review. Constructive crit welcome, but no flames please.
