SWEET

Erestor woke suddenly to a heavy weight on his chest. Warm hands pressed against his face and a gentle kiss was placed very carefully on his cheek.

The room was dark so he couldn't see his assailant, but he heard soft childish giggles and a deep voice in the shadows, "Come out of there, you. Leave Erestor alone."

Erestor pretended to sleep, hoping they would go as quietly as they came. The weight raised itself off of his chest and ran with quiet pattering steps to the main living room.

The door opened, allowing in a bright streak of sunshine and Erestor had to force himself not to react to the light. Other voices spoke at the entryway, but he couldn't make out what they said.

After a few minutes the light was gone again and a new, heavier weight, pressed against him.

"I know you're awake."

Erestor fought not to react. Cool fingers ran down his chest, loosening the buttons on his night shirt.

"Come on, Erestor, I know you're awake."

The tricky fingers danced lightly over his ribcage, too lightly, and Erestor breathed carefully, evenly, but eventually he couldn't control himself any longer and burst into laughter.

"All right, Glorfindel, you win. I'm awake, I'm awake, now stop tickling me."

The golden haired warrior heard, but did not obey, apparently relishing the sight of his flushed and giggling mate beneath him.

Eventually he let up, giving Erestor the opportunity to catch his breath, and the two lay together in their bed, hands clasped between them.

"Did you have to let Elladan in?"

"The door was unlocked. And how did you know it was him and not his brother?"

Erestor smiled, "Elladan has a particular fondness for strawberry jam. I could smell it from the other side of the room."

A laughing light in his eyes, Glorfindel leaned over and slowly, gently, licked Erestor's cheek, where a loving , if sticky, kiss had been placed.

Returning to his pillow, he closed his eyes and smacked his lips a few times. "You're right. Sweet."

Erestor smiled, "The jam?"

"That too."

The sun drifted lazily across the sky, but for two elves lying quietly in each other's arms in a cool, shadow darkened room, time stood still.
