The only way to end my suffering.

The world is beautiful, but it's not for me.

If only I had met the right person…
'Hello?'
Great, now I'm hearing voices in my head.
'Is anyone there?'
Dammit, I'm trying to kill myself, and this damn voice won't go away!
'Hey!'
I opened my eyes, taking in the wonderful sights of the forest I was in. No sign of the mystery speaker.
'Umm…behind you.'
Looking up, I was staring into a pale face with green hair and red eyes.
"Holy - !" I jumped away, smacking my head into a nearby tree, leaving a throbbing pain where I hit it.
'What were you doing?'
"None of your business."
'Really? Sitting around in a forest with a loaded weapon pointed at yourself?'
Speaking of which, I noticed that my pistol was missing.
'You mean this thing?'
Looking at the Pokemon, I noticed that it was holding my pistol in its hands. I reached out for it, but it glowed and floated up high where I couldn't reach it.
"Give it back."
'No.'
"Give. It. Back."
'Or what?'
I was getting mad. I just wanted to off myself and be done with it. I lunged at the Pokemon, but it simply disappeared with a soft whoosh.
"Give it back!"
"No," a soft voice whispered in my ear.
I spun around, and there was the same Pokemon, standing only a few inches away from me.
"What do you want?"
It was then that I noticed tears forming at the edges of its eyes.
'I've seen your life. I've felt your suffering. I want to help ease that pain.'
"How - ?"
'Have I seen all this? You've never seen a Gardevoir before, have you?'
I shook my head.
'Simply, my kind can read and feel emotions. We develop deep connections with Nature.'
"So, what, you think you can help me? Nobody can help me! They've tried, and failed! I can't stand living anymore, so GIVE ME BACK MY GUN!"
The Gardevoir staggered back, as though struck.
'I won't,' it whispered.
"What was that?"
'I said I won't. You're not getting this weapon back.'
I rushed at it. Instead of disappearing, it ran towards me, embracing me. Instantly, I felt all my pain disappear.
'So much pain…so much suffering…'
"What are you doing?"
'Funny you should ask, I'm helping you.'
"I don't -" I stuttered, fighting the logic to accept the Pokemon's help.
'You do need me. I can sense it.'
I fell to my knees and sank onto the forest floor, defeated. The Gardevoir followed me down, and looked me in the eyes.
'Betrayed…left to die…I can't understand why. All I know is the pain you've suffered.'
I felt sorry for it. I was causing this kindhearted being to suffer my agony. I slowly picked up the cool metal object I had landed on…
"Thank you."
The Gardevoir looked up, a pleased expression on its features. A flash, a muffled bang, a slight spatter of blood, and the pleased expression turned to shock. A trickle of blood made its way down the Gardevoir's chin from its mouth, dripping onto the floor.
'Why…?' it managed to ask before collapsing into my arms.
The round had entered just to the right of the ruby red horn in its chest, and exited its back, splattering blood onto a nearby tree.
"I'm sorry," was all I could say.
I laid back against a tree, still cradling the Gardevoir's body against mine.
'At least I had met someone who understood me,' I thought.

The End.
A/N: My first oneshot. Tragically, it had to end this way for both characters, but I had this idea out for a while now. I hope you all like it.
To all my PDD Trilogy readers: I am not done with TGoD. I am simply getting this out of my system before I lose sight of the Trilogy and all its faithful readers.
