"Okay, guys, say ahh..."

Max glanced over at Danny as he finished. He was doing what he did every morning: watering the flowers that needed it, and checking on the others that could only be watered at a certain time of day, and a whole bunch of other plant related things that Max would never completely understand, but it was important to Danny, and that was what mattered.

"So, how are those lilies coming along?" Max took a sip of juice.

Danny looked over his shoulder long enough to give him a quick smile. "Pretty good. They should bloom soon."

"See? I told you they were just taking their time to grow. You're not doing anything wrong." Danny smiled at him again gratefully as he continued watering said lilies.

Max knew that Danny really didn't need him here and that he couldn't do anything other to help aside from cheering him along... but he wanted to. And Danny didn't seem to mind. In fact, he reciprocated: while Max highly doubted Danny knew the difference between a spare and a strike, he still came to all of Max's games anyways. Speaking of games, he had to get to practice...

He rinsed out his glass and shrugged on his jacket. "I'll see you tonight at the match?"

"I'll be there. Good luck with your practice." Danny took a break long enough to kiss Max good-bye.

Max kissed him back. "Good luck with your lilies."

The former Surging Shark Ranger grinned to himself as he walked off to the bowling alley. He and Danny were different in a lot of ways, yes, but they were the same where it was important.
