A/n: I really wanted to write magical girl centric, along the lines of Puella Madoka Magica. So here is a poem! Enjoy! Warning: contains slight spoilers.
Magical Girl's Lament
What do you think of when I say Magical Girl?
Probably some cutesy little girl who is forced to save the world with a magical tiara, right?
Ha, no.
Being a Magical Girl is hell.
How do I know this?
I, Lily Matsuda am a Magical Girl.
It all started when I found that stupid bunny.
Yukari.
Miki wanted me to take her home.
Like the lovestruck idiot I am, i took Yukari home
Yukari was cute at first, with her fuzzy violet ears.
That is how she lured us in.
Yukari started talking about a contract.
Miki was down for it.
She always was fan of anything shojo.
I am more cynical.
But, I can't say no to Miki.
I would do anything for that girl.
When you make a contract, your life is pretty much over.
You have to spend many hours studying the world of witches.
It is quite tedious.
The worst part is when you have to go down to the Underworld.
That place is the stuff of nightmares
A twisted Wonderland.
Miki has had many nightmares.
During those nights, I hold her in my arms and never let her go.
Poor kid, she was so naive.
She thought she was going to be a hero.
So did I.
There are more magical girls, of course.
Miku and Gumi, `Haku and Neru.
I don't like Gumi, spoiled brat.
Always hitting on my Miki.
Haku and Neru are adorable.
Miku is too cold for her own good.
Though she has reason for it.
There was one more of us.
Luka.
She sacrificed herself for Miku.
She gave up her powers.
Which is the only thng keeping us alive.
When you make a contract, a large gemstone is embedded into your bellybutton.
That is the sourrce of our powers.
If you take that gemstone out, it is game over.
You basically sell your soul for a few magic tricks.
The only good thing is that I am closer to Miki.
Bounded by the red string of fate.
I love her.
Sometimes I look down at that mocking yellow gemstone and think.
I have these amazing powers that could save or destroy the world.
I have the world cradled in my hands.
Like I always wanted.
Was it worth it?
