S'up, demigods! This is a one-shot dedicated to the greatest pairing in the PJ&O 'verse, LEYNA!

Disclaimer: I don't own PJ&O. If I did, Leyna would be canon, Frank would be dead, and I'd be glad!

So, without further ado (what does 'ado' even mean?), I give you Opposites!

Opposites attract. That was what Gwen had told Reyna when she tried to convince her to go out with Leo Valdez. Reyna had never understood why people said that. How could two opposite people get along, much less date? And no two people were more opposite than Reyna and Leo.

Reyna was serious one. There were jokes about how serious she was. Leo was usually the one telling those jokes. He was open. He made friends. Reyna made associates.

Leo was fire. He burned brightly, for everyone to see. Everything about him grabbed people's attention. Reyna was ice. Her cold nature made others wary of her. She never socialized. She never partied.

But, oddly, they clicked. Leo easily became friends with her, and her with him. She found his presence to be surprisingly enjoyable. He was fun to be around, not that she would admit it, at first. She spent her time around him trying not to laugh or smile.

And she liked it. It was a game, or a contest. He would try to make her crack, and she would try not to. It wasn't easy. One day, he succeeded. They were having their morning coffee together.

"What do you call a bear with no teeth?" he asked.

"What?" Reyna sighed.

"A gummy bear!" he said, grinning. She couldn't help it. She stifled a laugh. Leo, unfortunately, noticed. "You laughed!" he shouted joyfully.

"No!" Reyna protested. "No, no, no! That was…an involuntary snort of…pity!" But the damage was done. Leo pestered her about it for days. Then, one day, she smiled. Then she giggled. Then she finally laughed.

People were surprised. Shocked, even. Who was this strange boy, who made Reyna actually laugh? They didn't see Leo as the type of person Reyna would open up to. They saw Leo as the type of boy Reyna would kill.

Reyna and Leo continued to get coffee together for months, until he finally told Reyna about his mother. And then, Reyna saw a different side of Leo. She realized that Leo wore a mask, just like her. Beneath the mask, he was broken. Just like her. Gaia had taken his childhood, just like the pirates had taken hers'. The only real difference between Reyna and Leo were the masks they chose to wear. Cold, and warm. Humor, and seriousness.

Soon after that, Leo asked her to the Fall Dance. To her surprise, she actually accepted. And she had fun, something Reyna hadn't had in a long time. That night, they kissed. And it was wonderful.

They continued dating after that. It wasn't always easy. They fought. They made mistakes. But they loved each other, and with each fight, with each mistake, with each apology, their love grew stronger.

Then, one day, after two years of dating, Leo proposed. Reyna cried, and accepted. They invited everyone to the wedding. They had cake. Then, a few months later, they discovered that they were going to be parents. And they had never been happier in their entire life.

Do opposites attract? Reyna asked herself as she looked down at her newborn daughter. She didn't know. She and Leo weren't so opposite, after all.

Wow. That was surprisingly…weird…to write. Seriously, what is this thing I'm feeling right now? It's new…oh, well. Thus concludes Opposites. Reviewers bring readers!
