Well, it's my birthday, and here I am writing sad OTP feels. One-sided Fluttercord, with background Dislestia.

The Loudest Quiet
The salty air licked at her lips, the gentle ocean breeze combing through her loose pink mane. A single teardrop fell from her closed eyes, tumbling down into the crashing waves below. The cliff side had been their favorite spot, sitting to watch the sunset fade away into the horizon. Now it only served as a reminder that her love was no longer hers.
Her heart constricted at the memory of him. His smile, his laugh. The way he brought joy to her mundane life with just a snap of his fingers. Being there for her when everyone else was too preoccupied in their own personal lives. Things that would never come to pass again, yet she could not readily forget them.
She took him in when no pony else would. She showed him kindness, taught him friendship, when everypony else said it was impossible for him to ever be anything but a manipulative foe. They were wrong, she'd say, they didn't really know him like she did. He would never do anything to hurt her.
But she had mistaken his friendship for love. Not his fault, she didn't blame him. He hadn't intended for her to misunderstand his affections.
And now...now he would never be hers. He had gone to another, bestowing all the love he had to share on somepony else, all the love that the kind yellow Pegasus wished had gone to her instead. She knew it was selfish to think this way. She should be happy for him...that's what friends do, after all. She tried to not be jealous of his beloved. When she'd see her, she would still smile, graciously bow her head at her majesty, and tell her that everything was all right before shyly slipping away.
How could she ever think she could compete with the ruler of all Equestria? What a fool she'd been.
And now she stood there alone and heartbroken, watching through her teary eyes as the ocean waves cascaded against the jagged rocks below her. In the distance, she could hear the faint chimes of the church bells...the final sign that he was lost to her forever.
She heaved a gasping sob, her heart afire with grief. She gazed out at the burning sun hovering just above the horizon; on any other day, it would have already set. This day, however, the royal bride wished to leave the sun shining for just a bit longer to celebrate her special day...yet all it did was mock the grieving Pegasus standing on the cliff side.
She inhaled a shaky breath, her wings firmly clutched at her sides. She whispered a faint "I love you" and wished him all the happiness in the world. And then she leapt from her perch, soaring momentarily in mid-air before diving down to the rocks below. Her wings never opened to save her.
She always was good at falling.
