A lily was both elegant and graceful a funeral flower in it's own right, Nagisa couldn't help but think that Rei-Chan would approve of such a wreath being laid upon his coffin as it was bore to the hearse. He, as well as the rest of the swimming club had volunteered to carry it— Their dear, newest friend but had been denied that right by the megane's strict parents. "Too young" and "Not strong enough" on the forefront of the many choice words they were delivered in hand with "Irresponsible" and "How could you do this to our child?". Words that even defensive parents, protective siblings and to say the least a teachers reassurance the children had been appropriately supervised couldn't soften.
Nagisa's distraught expression was painful to look at, Makoto couldn't take it in without feeling deep seated guild that stirred his deepest and darkest fears of the sea. First the fisherman, now his classmate, what lurked beneath the depths was enough to displace any confidence he had in his closest friends being able to dispell his fears of the deep. It also marked the distinct finale to their endeavours within the pool. Something even Rin had no harsh words to bark out— That's all he had ever been, bark without bite.
"Mako-Chan, do you think he's going to be lonely?" Sniffled the blond, wrapped in one of Makoto's sweaters— He'd turned up early in the morning with his face drawn and dark marks under his eyes betraying a lack of sleep that in addition to redness alluded to tears. Like a stray kitten, Makoto had been unable to hold back from inviting him inside. It was mostly because of their friendship, and partly because he knew he was to blame. It was a needle in his chest every time Nagisa smiled or thanked him.
"Ah… Lonely… I can't really say." A weak, apologetic smile. That was fake, he wasn't good at pretending to smile. Haruka seemed to bristle a little but as protective as he could be of his childhood friend there seemed to be no will in him to rebuke the blond who had suffered the most of them all.
"…I'm really going to miss him Mako-Chan." Words soft, voice raw from sobbing. Almost husky, Rei would have found that funny wouldn't they? "We— We were going to have our first kiss at the end of the camp." He confided, no apparent care for how that confession might be seen— homosexuality. He implicitly trusted Makoto and Haruka.
