Don't Make Me Turn This Car Around!-Preseries

"Daddy! Dean stole my Batman!"

"I did not, Sam! Check the ashtray, maybe you got something else stuck there!"

"I didn't! Daddy, he's lying! He has it!"

"I don't. Cut it out! DAD! Sam's kicking me!"

"DADDY!"

"ENOUGH!" The bellow for silence from the front seat caused both boys to clamp their mouths shut and give each other scathing looks. John relaxed slightly.

Silence…

…but not for long

"Your fault." Dean hissed elbowing his little brother.

"Nuh-uh… yours!" Sam responded with more volume throwing his toy jet at his brother "You took my Batman!"

Dean yelped and grabbed the fighter jet before it could hit him in the shoulder. "I didn't! You lost it!"

"I don't lose things, Jerk!"

"Sure you do!"

"Don't!"

"Do!"

"DOOOOONNNNN'T!"

"DO SOOOOO!"

The Impala pulled over abruptly and both boys shut up this time giving each other "we're doomed" looks. Their father remained still in front of the wheel for a long moment in which both brothers felt their mouths go as dry as the hot Arizona blacktop beneath the old Chevy's wheels. Then, ever so slowly, John Winchester turned in his seat. The squeak of his worn leather jacket against the upholstery did nothing to lessen the effect of his intimidation and he eyed both his boys with a look so sharp it could have cut through stone.

"Do I have to come back there?"

"No, Sir." "No."

"No, Sir."

"Uh yeah…I mean, no, Daddy…Sir."

"Good." The hunter turned back around and fired up the engine before the car was back on its previous course.

The Winchester brothers were quiet…for a whole half hour.

"Daddy! Dean won't give me back my plane!"

"You threw it at me, Bitch!"

"DEAN SAID A BAD WORD!"

John sighed heavily.
